Overpriced during Renovations

I was there just for a short time and should have stayed elsewhere. The location is not the closest to my destination but I tired it anyways.
The hotel was under construction/renovations and was informed of this upon checking in. I figured it wouldn't be a problem since I had to be up early and probably heading to bed late anyways so I didn't mind it.
The hotel is old, outdated and in desperate need of upgrades. The room I had was less-than-ordinary and I've had these types of room from Motel 6's before, didn't expect it from Holiday Inn. Even the Express has bigger rooms than this place gave me.
The staff were ok, I had to remind them about my priority club status and that's how they offered me some deals, coupons for the week.
I'll probably not stay hear again unless I hear otherwise that the upgrades are done and worth it. Next time I'll try the Express.

Just returned from a one night stay at the Holiday Inn in Cheyenne. Originally thought the price of the room was a little high for the location ($109) until we checked in and realized we had been given a 2 room suite. Great deal!
The room was very clean, bed was super comfortable, and the staff was quite friendly.
Also recieved a $25 gas card due to summer promotion, the only problem was it didn't work. I'm sure they will be happy to straighten it out when I call.
Would stay in that hotel again.

This is a mainline Holiday Inn that is trying to freshen up. They are working to improve but the changes are hard. Too much lime green paint for one thing. At one time it may have been the toast of the town but no more. It may not be worth the effort but kudos for trying.
The hotels layout is dated. The lobby is large but odd. There is an active bar on the lobby floor and this was the happening place the night I was here. It was catering to the big hat and belt buckle set that the whole hotel is aimed toward. The rooms are a bit smallish and ceilings are low. Avoid the first two floors unless you don’t mind the bottom of the barrel feel. The pool is uninviting to anyone over 12.
Located right of I-80 the hotel is easy to find. The main road to town is right out front. However the closest shops and fast food are a blocks away. But this is the west everyone drives every where so it should not be an issue.
The highlight of the hotel is the staff. They were very friendly and helpful. They seemed to take pride in the hotel and the work being done to improve. Lipstick on the pig but at least the pig is friendly.

Holiday Inn worked for our wedding

When we were looking back in June for a hotel to book a block of rooms for our wedding, Holiday Inn was able to beat all others by far when it came to rate. The events manager also explained that the hotel would be under renovation all summer, but assured us that the hotel would be completely remodeled by the end of September when our wedding would be held. We were looking for a block of around 50 reasonably priced rooms, with large gathering spaces and a bar, and the Holiday Inn fit the bill.
When I arrived last week for the wedding, I was pretty disspointed to see "Under Construction" signs everywhere and the front desk staff handing out earplugs to people checking in. Luckily, I never heard a thing during my 3 night stay. When I checked into my room, the room had not been completely remodeled like the event manager said they would be. They explained to me that there had been difficulties with the contractor. My room had upgraded beds and some furniture had been upgraded, but the carpet was dingy and stained. I imagine the carpet in all the rooms will be replaced shortly. I would call the room average at best, with the bed being above average.
Overall, the hotel was very accommodating to our visiting guests. There were a few complaints that the hotel wouldn't give rooms with king size beds, when other people did. Not really a big deal. The part that impressed me was that the Holiday Inn gave a special rate for our wedding right up until the wedding on 9/29, even though they said the deadline was 9/11.
The big open lobby and bar served as excellent gathering spaces during the three night stay and the restaurant was able to handle many of our guests without many problems.
Overall the hotel is very average, but served our needs very well during our wedding and most of our guests were satisfied with their stay.

I live in cheyenne so I did not stay there but...This hotel must be doing very well because they don't seem to need any more business. I called about holding a wedding reception there because they have no information on the internet. They couldn't give me any information over the phone. I was told I had to come in and pick up a packet. I asked if it could be emailed to me and was told no. I asked if it could be mailed to me and was told no. The only way was to go there and get the packet. I went to pick up a packet. There was no one in catering to get a packet from and the front desk had no packets. I left empty handed. The next day I emailed the manager and told him of my situation. A week later there is still no reply.
