def book before you leave the states, its cheaper... great location with free on premises guarded parking. clean and is what you'd expect from a holiday inn chain...couldn't browse on the wireless network but was able to plug in with lan cable provided in room. bathrooms were nice and clean w/ fruit shampoo and soaps...didn't try the restaurant but you could probably find cheaper/better eats, even in chetumal. right across the street is the museum of mayan culture.

I can not believe that this is supposed to be the best hotel in Chetumal.... The standard is poor, stains on everything from sheets, sofa, chairs, etc. They even woke us up three times one night, since they had miscalculated!!! a bill from the restaurant. I told them it had to wait until the morning and that I was trying to get some sleep, but they ignored me. The "extra" amount ended up on my bill anyhow (whitout me signing). We experienced the worst service ever. And eventhough we asked if the restaurant was open (morning January 1st), they had closed it. And when they opened, they demanded tips, and extra fees like there was no tomorrow. I will never stay there again,. My experieces with holiday inn are positive, but I can not believe this hotel is in the same chain.

Only spent one night but my room at the Holiday Inn was clean, cool and roomy. Room service was very good (although my lack of Spanish made it a bit difficult to communicate) and breakfast in the morning was almost too much. Lots of Mexican dishes as well as American choices in a fairly formal setting. There is a nice pool in a secluded courtyard and the hotel is right in the center of town. Good for business people (seem to be the main clientele) and for tourists - the museum is right across the street. During my brief stay, it seems like this hotel is the best in town.
