Stayed here for four nights in May, 2008. Nice hotel with great service. It's nothing "over the top," but I don't think that's what you expect at a Holiday Inn. It's clean, in good repair and close to everything. I am not sure you can ask for much more than that.

The hotel's location is ideal if you have to visit OSU. The staff at the front desk were friendly. Our room had a nice view of the university. The hotel offers free parking. Our room was clean and comfortable. We would recommend it and would stay there again if we ever go back to Columbus.
Perfect place to stay....we'll be back!

Stayed here for one night when touring the campus with my daughters and was very pleased with everything. Lovely room with very comfy beds and my younger daughter was delighted with the pillow menu you could order from and they'd bring up your choices. Room also had option of accessing internet via the television, as well as cable and music selections plus "pay for" movies if desired. Excellent location just bordering the campus with free parking in a covered garage. Convenient 7/11 next door and nice restaurant inside the Holiday Inn (Ashley's) that we tried for breakfast. Food was very tasty and we had excellent service. Didn't swim in the pool or try the hot tub, but the area was clean and well kept and looked inviting. Thumbs up for the Holiday Inn on the Lane at Ohio State!

If you are staying at this Holiday Inn, it is likely that you have some connection to the OSU campus.
This is a very friendly hotel that is centrally located. I read in USA Today that Holiday Inns were re-vamping some of their hotels, and this appears to be one of them.
Check-in was very fast and friendly. I am a Priority Pass member, so I received a free cocktail, free airport shuttle, and a discount on breakfast and dinner. The room is typical Holiday Inn layout—but appears to be updated and remodeled. I had a comfortable lounge chair in the room, a pillow menu (!), free and fast internet, a power strip (! Fantastic for charging multiple devices), and in-room coffee. The hotel was full, but the floor was quiet, and I did not need earplugs or an eyemask to sleep.
Some issues: I was quite surprised to only find one bar of soap (Tone) and only decaf the first night. The person before me had left their key, and had likely raided the goodies. The next night, they supplied shampoo (Garden Botanika variety) and more soaps, but it seemed the maid had forgotten the coffee. One lady on the elevator said her coffee machine had been dirty. I think the maid service for my floor had some issues, but the bed was clean, and that is the most important. Based on the friendly front desk, I’m sure they would have brought whatever I would need.

Over the past 4 years we have stayed at the Holiday Inn on Lane Ave. from time
to time while our daughter was attending Ohio State University.
Our most recent visit was June 2007 for college graduation.
The hotel is directly across the street from the campus and an
easy walk to most places on campus.
This hotel is kept clean and well maintained. Lovely indoor
pool, garage parking, and a hotel restaurant and bar .
Over the years we have stayed there numerous times- I think
the only "gripe" we do have is that there is no dinner service
on Sunday evening.. which can be a problem after a long
day of campus events or graduation- when you are really tired
and hungry it would be nice to get dinner service close by.
The staff is friendly and helpful and IF inColumbus now that
my daughter has graduated college,I would certainly
consider staying at this hotel for any other business
I would have in the area.
