The pool area is just beautiful and FUN! Our room was cool and comfortable; it was poolside, which was a little loud, but the noise ended early. We booked my Dad's 80th birthday (and sadly, final, as he passed away the following week) there in one of the conference rooms. I wanted to look extra special so I had my hair trimmed and styled at the on-site salon and it was VERY reasonably priced (lotsa compliments) . The staff was so nice and helpful; the lady who works in the bakery is incredible.
Other reviewers are right when they say there is water everywhere in the pool area; the staff constantly mops, but there is only so much anyone can do. No running!!!
But the staff suggested that my ailing father enter from a side door instead of through the pool area. They had a wheelchair close by for when he needed it.
I'm glad we held my Dad's last birthday there.

On our drive up to Michigan for Christmas, we stumbled upon this Holiday Inn. We found it to be great!! The theming was excellent in the lobby and pool area....like a small town. We didn't eat in the dining room but it had some interesting items from a very historic mansion that was in Columbus. Our room was clean and comfortable. I can't complain at all. What we loved, especially after an 8 hour drive, was the pool area. There is a pool, hot tub, pool table, game room, putt putt, and ping pong. For breakfast (free with Holiday Inn membership), we got to pick a bakery items and juice/coffee from the bakery store. It was good but nothing spectactular. We were pleasantly suprised and really enjoyed our stay. I will stay there again on my drive to Michigan.

We did not have a good stay at this Holiday. When we got there to check in, the hotel could not find our reservations even though we booked the hotel directly through holidayinn.com not through another website or travel service. They couldn't find our rewards number either. The Holiday Inn was a smoke-free property but I don't think that they did anything other than remove the ashtrays and the smoking signs. Our room smelled smokey despite being smoke-free. After we checked in we requested an extra towel but one never came and we ended up calling twice before a towel showed up. Then when it came time to check out they couldn't find our reservation again and charged us 20% more than our pre-given rate.
On the plus side, they finally gave us a discount on our stay after we complained of all of our troubles. If you like disappointing customer service then this Holiday Inn is for you!

We were there back in June of 2007. There was way too many people in their indoor pool. The hotel was at capacity and there was water everywhere. My little girl was walking with her daddy and slipped all the way by the banquet room(again water was everywhere) and busted her chin open. Ruined the whole vacation and man behind the counter says it happens there all the time. Still waiting for them to call me back 3 weeks later(not even an apology). Not to mention there are people drinking alcohol around the pool and no lifeguard!!

We visit this Holiday Inn 3 or 4 times a year with our sons and their families. The pool is beautiful, there is miniature golf, a ping pong table, and game rooms. We have always had a great experience.
Check in was done efficiently with a smile by a young man named Brandon. Around 6pm we discovered that one of our room's doors did not lock. We called the front desk and thought it would be taken care of promptly. Obviously doors that lock are an important thing in a hotel room. Apparently it wasn't to this Holiday Inn. Each of us had to take turns leaving the pool area and staying in the room to "guard" our belongings in both rooms since it had a connecting door. Four phone calls and 2 1/2 hours later, the maintenance man still had not arrived. Brandon came down and worked on it himself to try to help us. I was beginning to think we were going to have to sit guard duty over night. Hotel room doors SHOULD lock for crying out loud.
The water pressure was just a trickle in the showers. I asked for a rollaway bed 5 times over a period of 3 hoursbefore (you guessed it) Brandon delivered it himself. This hotel is not being maintained very well and it's a shame. We will definitely start looking for another winter retreat. Upon checkout I told the day desk clerk we were disappointed and she removed $20.00 from the bill. However, I would have preferred to pay the quoted price and not have to guard our room until the pool closed.
The best thing this hotel has is the aforementioned Brandon who seemed to take care of everything by himself and try to help everyone. Kudos to Columbus Holiday Inn for hiring him. I can't imagine what this place is like when he is not on duty.
