Although the new renovated hotel rooms at this property are very nice, the restaurant (spitfire grill) and banquet rooms are DISGUSTING.. we had meetings there and the furnace broke so there was no heat (and no apologies) and the food was expensive and stale. If your going to stay there make sure you don't eat there or have meetings there, the carpets are stained and have holes, the food is awful...

Much like the last enrty, our time at this establishment was horrible in every way. The smell of the entire builing was very bad, the floors stained, the resturant staff rude, cleanliness unbelievably bad throughout. Literally didnt feel comfortable using any washroom in the building due to lack of cleanliness. (room or common). Trying to get a manager to take care of several housekeeping issues was a several step excesice for each one. You know you are in a very poorly run business when managers blame horrible service/housekeeping on the "cant get good people in Brantford" (or where ever you happen to be) excuse. Nice town, worst hotel I have experienced in my life, truly.

An unbelievable experience... While checking in we observe a clean lobby, friendly staff; we’re thinking so far so good. Getting to the room it becomes obvious this is an older hotel, the building interior (other than the lobby) is run down, doors squeaky/rattle, worn carpeting, hallways smell like smoke - even non-smoking floors. The room has stained carpeting, lots of wall patching, old outside wall AC/Heat noisy unit, bathroom fixtures are worn out, rusty, and stained. Later we discover the toilet and shower drains are clogged. They move us to a second room. The bathroom in the second room has human hair all over the floor and shower walls. Then the ultimate in disgust - the underside of toilet seat and top of toilet bowl are covered with human waste; the toilet hadn’t been cleaned after the previous occupants. GROSS!!! We contact the front desk and are issued keys to a third room. A short while later my wife discovers dirty clothes behind the bathroom door, left by the previous occupants which means the bathroom was either never cleaned or given a quick, cursory cleaning. We could not leave fast enough!!! One wonders if the bed sheets had been changed since the cleaning/hotel staff either was unable or unwilling to do the basics. Recommendation – avoid this place like the plague. It’s old, it’s run down, and who knows if anything has been cleaned prior to guests arrival.

The Holiday Inn Brantford is in need of serious renovations. The hotel is old and tired. The furnishings in our room were probably nice in the 1970s when they were new but they are past due for replacement now. Our bathroom was marginal at best and the bathtub was so badly stained that none of us would dare to have a bath in it. When we arrived the pool was closed for renovations. Although I agree that renovations are needed at this hotel, I think I should have been advised that the pool would be closed when I booked my room just two weeks before my arrival. The staff were friendly but no amount of smiles could have made up for this run down place. At $90/night this hotel is over priced by about $50. I would stay here again if the only other choice was to sleep in my car. Otherwise, I would find somewhere else.

I found the hotel to be clean, well lit and friendly people. I had a situation where I needed som suplies for my baby. The manage went out of his way to go and pick up the diapers for me. Thanks SID!!! My kids loved the pool and the restaurant right there was excellent. I hihjly recommend it to anybody A++++
