When we finally found the place, we were very worried...it is down a scary looking street, so we had a hard time finding it and the worn down exterior appearance had me prepared for the worst. I was proven wrong. Where as the property is older, the room had been renovated and was very clean. The manager was extremely accomodating and there was even in-room coffee--awful coffee---but in room coffee. But at the price you can't beat it. The cheapest by far in Bishop and beats the heck out of some of the other motels in Bishop....it was a pleasant surprise.

I was traveling to Bishop for a family funeral and I got stuck in a bad storm and could not get there. I called Americas Best "worst" Hotel in Bishop the morning I was to be there. Told them I was stuck in a snow strom and asked for a refund for that night or even give my room to my relative who was staying there to. They DID nothing for me...DID NOT care and would even give my room that I paid for to my family.
Please.... give me back MY money or at least a credit of some kind. You need to care about your customers...things happen and IT WASNT my fault I was stuck in this storm. Bill Hepburn

Among similar franchise motels, the Bishop America's Best Value stood out as worse. The heater didn't work well (we were cold), the room was not very clean, and the hot water was intermittent. The folks running the place seemed like they were trying, but for the price ($110 for one night on a holiday weekend), they might have done a bit better.
OK for the price.

We needed an inexpensive stop-over motel room to stay in on our way to Mammoth, and needed two rooms to accomodate our teenagers. For the price, it was very comfortable. We got two queen beds. Our room appeared to have been "remodeled" with low quality granite and ceramic tile in bathroom, but hey, it isn't the Hyatt. (It also initially stunk of strong pinesol.) The heater worked nicely and the bedsheets were clean - mattress was a bit firm. The room had a small fridge and microwave also. If you need just a quick stopover that is substantially lower in price than some other motel rooms in the area, this place is for you.
Of note - the pool area was basically a trashy discard area for old remodel items - matresses, junk yard stuff. We didn't mind although it was rather of an eye sore! Not sure if they clean this up by summer months or not.
