We stayed 6/28-7/5/08 with a party of nine in 5 rooms. The rooms were nice with comfortable beds and pillows. We ate at the breakfast buffet every morning that has everything you could want including lots of fresh fruits. The pool deck needs to be bigger to accommodate the large number of guests. There was also a shortage of pool chairs. The service was good and staff members were friendly. The lunches at Beachcombers were delicious with healthy food choices.

We just returned from an overnight stay at the Hilton, Myrtle Beach. The experience was terrible from the beginning. Check in took over thirty minutes and there were only two people ahead of me in line. The room was ok, but could be cleaner. When we tried to check out, I tried to call the front desk per the instructions and could never get a response. When I finally came downstairs there were at least four staff members in the back of the front desk area (once they heard guests out front, they started coming out). The supervisor was helping me, I told her that I had tried for several minutes to check out per the instructions and was told oh, well that's no problem. She then was going to make me stand in another line because she hadn't turned on her computer. I was not about to go stand behind four other people when I had been there first. It was the worse customer service I have seen in a long while.

Our trip started off rocky with several issues the first day-- but after notifying the Executive Assistant, she did everything in her power, to not only accomodate us, but make us feel extra special!!! She went out of her way to help us enjoy the rest of out stay (knowing we had such a rough first day at the hotel). She called and checked on us, she ensured we were reimbursed, and also went above and beyond her job duties!!!
I have never met someone so generous, organized, and helpful at any hotel! Although after the first 5 hours, I wanted to leave-- after talking to the Executive Assistant, I wanted to stay for an extra week!!
She even called me a week after our stay to make sure our last two days went perfect, as she was on vacation and not in her office those two days!! So a big thank you to Mary and her staff at the Hilton!!!! :)
Not Worth the Hilton Name!

We have a family with two children under the ages of 7. If it had not been for our children, my husband and I would have walked out of this hotel immediately. In order to save our children's vacation, avoid dissapointment, and lack of availability at another hotel we stayed. When we arrived our room was filthy. It had crayon all over the walls, an air filter in the ceiling that needed to be changed desperately, an inch and 1/2 gap under the door leading to the outside (trust me - it got loud - not to mention the obvious security and fire hazards this could cause). The toilet was not clean upon arrival - truly disgusting! We have never had to do this but we asked to be moved to another room and they did accomodate the request. The staff offered no apology for the room. When we were being moved to our other room, the bellman told us that the hotel is severly understaffed in all areas. Not a good sign if a Hilton hotel can't get staff during their peak season! Our second room was not much of an improvement. The service at this hotel is almost non existent. House keeping will eventually arrive at your hotel but don't expect a good job. The vacuuming was spotty at best, toilets and bath tubs never cleaned properly. The pools were cloudy and not kept up well. Property looks worn down. We were very dissapointed that this is affiliated with the Hilton hotel name. Save yourself the inconvenience and dissappointment - go to the Marriott!

We recently stayed at the Hilton in Myrtle Beach and had a wonderful time and would return at a moments notice. The accomodations were excellent and the staff was so friendly and helpful from Derek at the desk to Eddie who carried our luggage. I was most impressed by how friendly the staff were to each other - it made for a nice atmosphere. The pools were unique and seemed to accomodate young children as well as adults. The highlight of our stay however, was riding on the "Fun Bus" with a driver named Charlie. He was so informative and made us laugh. He truly is the essence of Southern Hospitality
