My husband and I spent Memorial Day weekend at this hotel in 2008. We are both Hilton Diamond VIP members and let me tell you that we experienced the worst service ever! The horror started with check in - "Liz" not the friendliest front desk clerk, greeted us with sneers and poor customer svc. Again, not your typical reception for being Diamond VIP members. Once we checked into our room in the "new tower," to our dismay, we found urine and pubic hair on the toilet seat. My husband quickly tried to get a hold of the general manager "Sherrisse" to dispute the matter. Surprisingly enough, not one manager was available! Messages were left, but no one returned our calls. Day two; breakfast - again, not typical for a Hilton. Eggs, bacon, sausage not included with the free breakfast coupons??? Unheard of! Should of had breakfast at Denny's! Way under staffed for a holiday weekend - just ask Betty Rae our pleasant waittress who was quite forgetful and not very friendly. Aside from a few other issues, until they revamp their etiquette and perhaps fire their management for incompetence, I personally would not recommend staying at this property for your worst fears may very well come true. One more thing, bring your own towels for the pool/beach, or you'll end up with wash cloths to dry up...

I am a little reluctant to write this review because the end result will likely decrease my chances of getting a room next year. Our stay was for 8 days and we had a tremendous time. The hotel view of the ocean was out of a travel magazine. The room (king) was newly furnished and spotless. What really made the stay enjoyable was the staff. Let me give you some names: Liz and Dora at the front desk: Betty the waitress: Jason the asst food and beverage director: Sue at the pool bar and Richy our room maid. These people made us feel like family and made sure are stay was a pleasent one.....the beach is at your doorstep and we did a lot of walking.....some tips: try bonefish willies for dinner as well as scott's on 5th av....the front desk can direct you to other food venues and I can say that we did not have a bad meal during our stay....I gave it 5 stars and I intend to return next year...

I've stayed here twice for a conference, once last year and once this. Last year, my guaranteed king oceanfront room was not available, however I was expected to pay the same rate. The restaurant was also selling undercooked prawns. This year, the room given me smelt heavily of urine. I fail to understand how housekeeping considered this acceptable when they made up the room from the previous customer. I was assigned a different room, but not the guaranteed king oceanfront, they claimed they had none. Still ended up paying the same rate. Overall not impressed. Next time I'm down in Melbourne, I'll try one of the many other hotels along the oceanfront.

Nice and clean with a great view of the ocean and pool (but giving little privacy while swimming). Rooms beautifully decorated. Doors slam loudly. Construction still going on making you wonder if you'll have a place to park when you come back. But heard no construction from the room. Nice place for a couple of nights but I'm glad we didn't stay there for most of our vacation as there wasn't much room to spread out.
