What a great hotel! Staff was awesome! Nice comfortable room-had 1st floor king room and you can actually walk to the pool from patio door. No wall to climb over, just open the door, walk about 30 feet and jump in the pool-that was a plus! The location is great and 2 minute walks to the spa casino and shopping and dining on palm canyon blvd. Just park your car when you get here, because everything is walking distance. I'll be back!

This Hilton is a very respectable establishment, but it certainly is not a stylish or exciting place to stay. It's an older property, a three-story donut-shaped complex with a large pool in the center. It's older, though not historic, but very well kept and clean. The staff is professional and friendly.
The rooms are pretty average, not small or large, with traditional decor and older amenities (27" tube TV). Once again, clean but not interesting or stylish. This may be boring for some.
The crowd seems older and sedate, but families seem to enjoy the large pool and the two spas. Food at the restaurant is pretty average. You are better off walking to Palm Canyon Blvd or the Spa Casino, which are both conveniently within a couple of blocks.

I've stayed several times here in the last couple years. Renovations are complete now and the hotel is great. I had a "Presidential Suite", there are many of these in the hotel. The shower is enormous in size!! 4 large shower heads from the ceiling and two from the wall, with the colorful glass till surround you feel like you are in a rain forest waterfall. Two hi-def TVs, a large balcony with very nice patio furniture. The standard rooms are nice and large but do not have the huge bathrooms and hi-styled design as the Presidential Suites.
Pros: Location, walk to main shopping and dining areas in dowtown Palm Springs; rooms are large and with private patio or balconies; amazing views of San Jacinto mountains; service is outstanding; hi-speed worked very well;
Cons: The hallways are a bit drab with unflattering art, feels like a chamber. Very much in contrast to the bright rooms. Though the rooms are new, some of the lighting wasn't well planned (in the Presidiential Suites). The standard rooms don't seem to have the same hi-tech design style issues as the Suites (lighting that is in dire need of dimmer controls, enormous and modern bathrooms). There were several small maintenance issues, none enough to call in to the desk (but would think someone on staff would have caught it).
Tips: Ask for a room facing the courtyard/pool (others face the street and lots). In addition, the best views are the pool AND mountain facing rooms, highly recomended to request this! The wooden blinds in some rooms don't block light well, ask for one of the Suites which have sheers and black-out drapes. Take advantage of the "Resort Value Pack", it's reasonable in price and includes a lot (like free Internet, parking, calls, gym access, more).

Called the hotel night before and was able to book a room. The whole experience was wonderful. From the minute we booked the room to the minute we left the hotel. The reception was wonderful, the rooms were very clean and the pool was great. Very family oriented. Have already recommended this hotel and will definitely stay here again very soon.

The Hilton Palm Springs starts to become the ultimate Oasis in the Desert

I wanted to set the record straight on the Hilton Palm Springs as it has mixed reviews over the years even from this reviewer. Though improvements are still needed to this hotel it has fast become my top 5 choices in Palm Springs.
As I do a few hundred nights a year in hotels the role of recognition becomes very important to me. As a top tier member in Hilton HHonors for many years I am pleased to say that this hotel remains one of the most compliant pro-active hotels in the country in or out of the Hilton family of brands.
For example I book a reservation one month in advance online and I go back a few days later and I can see right online somebody at the hotel has already upgraded me to an upgraded room or suite.
I wish many other major brand hotels would get what that means to a traveler but frequently no matter how much I travel they are fishing for the first available cleaned room by housekeeping at check in. Rather then honoring my loyalty or caring about guest satisfaction.
Moving along more good news the hotel has undergone a significant renovation and the rooms are now some of the most desirable in the city.
I do not know how many rooms have been improved at The Hilton Palm Springs as I share this information so one might want to call and check if that matters. However all rooms have the new comfy Hilton bed and nice linens
Breakfast is excellent here as hotel breakfasts go and the staff tries to honor any request without fuss. The produce/fruit is usually always in season and sweet.
I like that they remember you even after just one or two stays. A discount breakfast coupon/credit was supplied as part of my daily Hilton benefits.
The Hilton PS also recently opened a nice upscale spa and the property commands a premium location in the heart of everything with a fairly nice staff.
The balconies off the rooms are nice to kick back on and the pools typically seem a big draw as does the nice bar outside.
Without hotel name bashing here a number of other local branded properties in the area haven’t seen a renovation in over a decade yet those competitors continue to ask for outrageous daily rates to some unsuspecting guests.
Bravo to the Hilton for not overcharging on their daily rates typically.
When times are slow there are very fair rates available unlike some of the other hotels who have many empty rooms yet and refuse to discount their rates (Hello Hyatt)
Yes the Hilton can be pricey too especially in season.
The Hilton Palm Springs does have four things that bug me
an advance one night deposit to your credit card no matter when you book, the obnoxious industry resort fee, no complimentary business center to receive email, and an ageing but useable tired fitness center that is need of redoing. I am willing to overlook those small details because of the overwhelmingly positive on property hands down. The Hilton Palm Springs remains a winning choice and brings value to the table especially for members of the Hilton frequent stay program.
My friends who weren't Hilton program members still enjoyed their stay experience as well but after becoming jealous of my recognition in house enrolled in the program before check-out.
I don’t doubt that some of my minor concerns too may be addressed overtime as they seem to really be moving in all the right directions.
I consider myself very lucky to be their guest and have the excellent relationship I have with them. I am only sorry it took me years of visiting Palm Springs to finally give them a try over these past few years.I wish every Hilton could get the basics this right
This ones a keeper
