We stayed at the Hilton from 6/28 to 7/3 and absolutely loved it. I travelled with my husband and 18 month old son. There were so many features about this hotel which are family friendly- they provided an actual crib (not a pack and play with those flimsy padded cardboard to sleep on)- although it was a small crib, it worked out just fine. The room was big enough- we had a king sized bed and balcony overlooking the ocean and the pool (I called a week prior to our arrival to request that, but wasn't expecting it since most of our stay was booked using Hhonors points- only paid for 1 full night our of the 4). We were able to position the crib in the little hallway outside the bathroom so that my son could go to sleep early as he always does, and we still had the rest of the room, balcony, to relax in without disturbing our little light sleeper. The room came with a small refridgerator which we used to store bottled water and other items we purchased at a local grocery store. As other reviewers indicated, the breakfast buffet was pricey, but they also offer a la carte menu which was much more reasonable- I ordered a la carte the two times we ate there. We loved the pool- I didn't think it was small at all- it was not crowded, very clean, and there were plenty of lounge chairs available throughout the day, no matter what time you decided to go to the pool. I was a little annoyed that they wanted $19 to rent an umbrella especially since the heat and sun on the beach were pretty much unbearable without an umbrella- but I did see people who brought their own umbrellas (they sell them right across the street at the Alvin's Island store)- might be cheaper to buy your own if you are staying for a week and plan to hit the beach every day. I loved the location- there were about 6 restaurants right across the street, a movie theater, and an ice cream parlor. We loved the irish pub across the street (Cathy O'Clarke's Irish Pub)- the food was excellent and I was surprised because it didn't look like that great of a restaurant judging by the exterior. It was nice to be able to just walk across the street and have stores and restaurants right there. All in all, we loved this hotel and will definitely be back. They even surprised us with a "Guest of the Day" certificate and a platter of fruit delivered to our room. Will definitely be back! (By the way, our room was on the opposite end of the hotel from the construction, did not hear any noise from that at all!)

The Marco Island Hilton sits on the beautiful southwest coast of Florida overlooking the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. We chose the Hilton for our 6 day vacation in June since I had enough Hilton Honors points to use for the entire stay. Although our experience was mostly good, there were a few issues. First the good:
The hotel is located at the south end of Marco Island, right on the beach and across the street from Marco Walk which had many restaurant and bar options. Parking was easy ($8 for self-parking). The lobby is nice and the hotel property is setup well with the pool complex in the middle, restaurants and meeting rooms at the north end and all rooms on the south end. There are two walkways to the beach: one from the pool area, one off the main hallway of the room tower. There are plenty of chairs at the pool (both in shade & sun) and there were complimentary chairs on the beach (umbrellas can be rented for around $18).
There are a couple of eating / drinking choices at the hotel: Paradise Caf? had a terrific buffet breakfast with cooked-to-order eggs & waffles plus French toast and many other items. Sandcastles is the more upscale choice but we did not eat there. You can order food at the Beach Grill and there is a Starbucks kiosk for breakfast. The bar at Sandcastles was nice with daily drink specials. However, the night scene was pretty quiet.
The rooms were large with two double beds, a refrigerator, two sinks (one inside the bathroom, one out), an HD TV, a couch with a queen pullout, a large desk and two chairs. There is a balcony on every room with two chairs and a table.
Now for some issues:
First, as mentioned throughout the reviews, there is major construction going on next door and it is noisy and an eyesore. Fortunately the rooms are heavily insulted that you cannot hear it inside but if you are sitting on the balcony in a south end room or on the beach, it is distracting. I suspect this will take another 6 – 9 months to complete.
Second, the workout room that is advertised as 4,000 sq feet is barely 400 sq feet. It was sorely lacking in variety. But a new spa and fitness facility is being built (also on the south side) that will be finished late this year. The tennis courts is now a tennis court due to the spa construction and is in poor shape.
For some reasons, the Hilton resort pools lack much imagination. Since the pool is a big part of a Florida vacation, having waterfalls and creative design (like the Marriott has a few doors up) would have improved the experience.
Lastly, the front-desk staff lacked the hospitable treatment that was shown in all other areas. We called ahead to ensure we got a room not facing the construction and said they would try but when we arrived there were none available. They offered to move us the next day – which they did to a 2nd floor room overlooking the walkway. As a Hilton Honors Gold member I would have expected better.

This is a beautiful hotel and MUCH NICER than the Marriott Beach Resort up the street. That place is simply TOO BIG. We had relatives staying there and they had to walk literally thousands of steps to the beach.
I much prefer the Hilton. The beach is beautiful, the pool very clean and not too crowded.
We did not eat at any of the restaurants because hotel restaurants tend to be pricey and medium to poor quality.
We were VERY HAPPY with Gunnar, our bellman. He explained everything about the hotel and even offered and brought us ice, which no bellman has ever done for me before, even in the Ritz Carlton!
The front desk was very courteous and overall, it was a very nice stay!
