The hotel was in a fairly central location. We did have to do some walking to the main attractions but it was a nice weekend so we did not mind. It is close to the Metro.
The rooms are clean and fairly spacious. The service was excellent although slow at check in. The bed was very comfortable as most Hampton Inn Hotels are.
The breakfast was a bonus too, but more choice would have been nice. All in all, we had a great stay and would return if we go back to Washington DC.

Spent a long weekend there with older children (17 & 19). Great location not far from Metro & a variety of food choices. The staff was polite and helpful. They even gave me good directions from airport Metro station over the phone. Breakfast was very good. Rooms were small but clean - very nice upgraded bathroom.

We had a great stay at this Hampton Inn location! The staff is great, accomodating our every need and just about each and every one of them had a distinct, charming personality. I'd like to commend the front desk staff for helping me out in every way, even though I didn't ask for much. I ended up needing some batteries at a weird time at night, and the guy at the front desk was very helpful, and they all suggested good spots to eat (ended up in Chinatown at Tony Cheng's) and hang out at (an Irish bar a few blocks away). I even got into an old fashioned basketball debate with one of them...it's a favorite subject of mine, and it was fun talking with him.
The location is great, with GREAT restaurants within walking distance and some bars and nightclubs also easy to get to. I've read reports about the general area after dark, and I'd like to say that I didn't have a problem at all, and I didn't drive the whole time and was out until the wee hours of the morning. But, I'm familiar with DC; people that aren't may feel a little out of place.
The $28.00 parking fee was a little steep, but worth it when it came down to it; one thing about DC is parking is always a pain, especially when it comes down to reading all of the signs they have posted on sections of curb and figuring out where/when you can park in certain places. It turned out that I didn't use my car the entire time we were there...and just so you know, the valet parking is in an underground garage so it's not like they're parking your car on the DC streets.
The room was fantastic, the best part of the stay! We ended up getting upgraded to a suite, and enjoyed every minute of it. The beds were great, and the room was spotless with a great view of the city. I would definitely suggest this hotel to anyone traveling through the nation's capital.

This property is ok as Hampton Inns go--and was a pretty good bargain for staying in DC. But be aware that it borders a neighborhood that is not great and take that into account. Also, my wife and I checked bags with the bellman for only 2 hours (after checkout and before heading to the airport) and in that time, one of our bags was "lost" and has not yet been found. There was lax security as people were just retrieving their own checked bags from a conference room that was being used for storage. Security is something that needs to be very seriously looked at by the management of this property as it leaves it lot to be desired. We are still waiting for this Hampton to make good on its guarantee of 100% satisfaction and to replace the bag it lost!
Great breakfast and friendly, helpful staff!

My daughter had spent a night at this hotel in May when she came for a job interview and loved the property. So when we moved her to DC for her new job, we stayed here for three nights. The staff are all amazing - they go out of their way to help. And the breakfast isn't just cold cereal and danish - full hot and cold breakfast. Amazing! We used the business center and my teenage son used the work out room. We were within just a few minutes walk to everything, including the metro. And there are all kinds of restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable for three adults. I will definitely consider staying here again when I return to DC for a visit.
