Extremely friendly staff. They made our family feel very welcome. Every request was met with a smile. Many times there were 3 people at the front desk. Large rooms that were very clean. Outside area - including pool - very clean. The first night we did have a room on the "Hwy side" - Could NOT sleep at all. There was so much hwy noise - the window might as well have been open. However, upon complaint - we were moved the next morning without hesistation. No noise! A fabulous room with no noise. Hotel pictures are exactly what we experienced.
Most important: we were told they were sold out the first night - there was no noise from the other guests. No doors slamming, no guests running, talking through the halls - very quite...
Advise: unless you are used to going to sleep next to a highway, simply ask for a room that is not on the "hwy side" -
Oh, typical shopping across the street, Old Navy, Target, Starbucks, etc... We will stay there AGAIN!

King Suite, full kitchen. Very comfortable room. Comp breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon/sausage, waffles and the usual cold stuff) AND dinner (single entre, but all were pretty good) in the lobby. DVD player on one TV (there were two).
LOTS of choices for food and entertainment nearby ... as in walking distance.
Clean room, everything worked, large bathroom. Some noise from the highway, but actually that little bit of a drone helps me go to sleep. (I'll often run a fan at home just for the noise).
For a business traveler, with the comp meals and other amenities, this will have to rate as one of my top stays in the last 10 years. It was very refreshing to not have to think about where to go for dinner ... I just ate right there.

This is the second time I have stayed at a Homewood Suites. I have found both times to be very enjoyable. The room was clean and was just the size I expected from the description. The bed was very comfortable. Having a kitchen is always a bonus when traveling.
The Breakfast Buffet was good. They had quite a selection eggs, waffles, oatmeal as well as fruits and breads.
I will definately continue to book with the Homewood Suites.

This is one of those places I don't want to review, because I (selfishly) am afraid of creating competition. But since I am usually on too tight a budget to stay here, it won't create that much of an issue.
We got a great deal on an internet special and stayed at the Homewood Suites over Christmas holidays. It was pretty quiet, probably since business travelers weren't out.
Our room was quite a long walk from the lobby When we walked in, I just said "Wow." The dark wood furniture and practically new-looking furnishings blew me away. The suites are more like efficiency apartments than hotel rooms, warm and inviting. They surround a little courtyard and have nice large windows to let the light in (they open and are screened). The suite included a full fridge, stove, microwave, coffee maker and a dishwasher. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.
I was pleasantly surprised that dinner was provided downstairs (except for Christmas night); the meal was not fancy (eggplant parmagiana, salad, bread) but was quite tasty. The exercise room had a couple of treadmills, a bike, an elliptical machine and some dumbbells. The maids and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful.
We travel to Knoxville frequently, have stayed all over (including the Hilton and Marriott downtown), and this is my favorite hotel.
Would not recommend this hotel

I had such a WONDERFUL trip at the asheville Homewood suites i decided to give them a try in knoxville, tn.. 1 hour drive distance but a WORLD of difference in quality in my opinion.
1st.. Check in was smooth and they quickly gave me 2 room keys.. Unfortunately the keys did NOT work and the room they sent me to was actually occupied by another family.. I went back to get new keys and they said "ooh we sent u to a filled room, glad u couldn't get in".
2nd.. Room was small but nicely appointed. Lamp by bed was broken.. TV in other room was unplugged...light in bathroom didn't work... shower curtain was broken...
Breakfast was uninspiring....scrambled eggs and very chewy sausage...i didn't enjoy this stay at all.
So, i can not in good spirit recommend this place for my fellow travelers...
