Clean and comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff. Actually, the staff alone is my reason for the "Excellent" overall rating.
I can always tell when an establishment has good management; the staff is always polishing brass, cleaning handprints off of glass traffic-areas etc. This hotel has it!
We found our suite, and the common areas, to be attractive and in great condition. The two flat screen TVs were a nice touch. Loved the fact that we were offered a complementary breakfast AND a "light fare" dinner. The light fare was plenty!
Loved the onsite coin-op laundry room too.
Conveniently located just a short drive from Historic downtown Savannah. It seems like it was just under 10 minutes for us. Even the drive was great. We were able to drive through some big beautiful neighborhoods dating from the early 1900s - 1930s. WOW, great little side-trip!
This was my first trip to Georgia, it will not be my last.

This has all the comforts of home. The suites are newly decorated and they actually sleep 6 if you get two queens and your couch pulls out to a full size bed. Full fridge with oven and microwave. Your are a few miles away from downtown Savannah. Savannah has so much to offer from antiques to haunted tours. We stayed just one day but it was a great stay with free breakfest. I would definately come back. The front desk people was very helpful and courteous.

I resently stayed at this hotel on business for 12 days. Let me tell you WOW! The renovations to the property are AMAZING!!!
It is complete now which was a concern from past blogs, but its all done and very nice. You get so much for your money with the big breakfast and the meals and beer and the evening, you cant beat it!!!
The staff are so nice and so helpful. Always smiling and always upbeat. I would recommend this hotel #1 for anyone.
Great location, easy access and very safe.

I stayed at this property for one night while enroute to Florida. I used HHonors points (20,000 points) for my stay in a one bedroom suite. Having read some previous reviews, I was a little concerned about the condition of the hotel. My concerns proved to be unfounded.
The property is situated in an area of Savannah that has several hotels (Residence Inn, Fairfield). A well kept shopping area is located adjacent and features national chain restaurants (Bonefish Grill, Coldstone Creamery). I found the area very nice and I felt safe there. A more questionable area can be found only 6-7 blocks away. Downtown is but a ten minute drive from the hotel.
The exterior of the property is clean, well kept, and typical of the Homewood brand. The lobby was clean, spacious, and featured quality furnishings. The adjacent business center has yet to be updated, and it showed. The internet access in this room was a challenge due to the elderly PC running it. This is unacceptable at a property which caters to the business traveler. The small exercise room was clean and had several pieces of equipment that appeared to be of recent vintage and in good shape.
The hotel is split between three separate buildings in the complex. The commons area features a pool, whirlpool, and sports court. All were well maintained. A smoking area is located between the pool and the lobby. This was problematic during times of heavy use as smoke would come into the pool area where several small children were swimming.
The property is in the midst of a major refurbishment. Construction materials are seen in the courtyard, but all were kept close together and did not appear messy.
Check-in was quick and easy, although the staff did not seem to be overly excited to be of service. Directions to the suite and local sites was offered.
I was assigned a suite in Building 3, on the third floor. Access to the elevator was a challenge as the doorways are tight for luggage carts. Interior hallways are recently refurbished. They are aesthetically pleasing, well lit, and clean.
The suite was very nice, among the best I have seen at a Homewood property. It had obviously just been refurbished. Quality was evident throughout with both the sitting and sleeping areas featuring 42 inch flat panel HDTVs. Marble countertops in the kitchen, and bath certainly added flair. Simply, the rooms were well appointed.
Appliances in the kitchen area had not been replaced during the refurbishment. Each operated fine, but showed age. This should be a consideration for property owners when dollars are available.
The breakfast area and food selection was typical for the Homewood brand. Staff was polite, helpful, and seemed interested in customer satisfaction.
Checkout was flawless, literally a thirty second experience with cordial staff members on-duty.
In summary, issues identified by previous reviewers are being addressed by property owners. Without question, they are spending major dollars on the property to keep it competitive. As long as guests insist on being placed in a recently refurbished room, there should be no problems.

We loved our stay at the Homewood Suites in Savannah. After reading reviews here I was scared at what we would find. I should not have been worried. The hotel was in a nice section of town and we felt very safe. The hotel is undergoing a major renovation which is almost complete. Our room was clean, the bedding luxurious and we enjoyed having so much extra space. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great. My only complaint was all 3 of the washers were broken but the clerk called the adjoining hotel and asked if we could use theirs. Overall, a VERY good experience. One of the best hotels I've stayed in.
