Last weekend we went to Laredo and since my wife had recently been operated we wanted to take it easy and stay overnight. I really had been planning to book a room in another hotel also across the street from the Mall del Norte but got confused with the name (yeah laugh) and ended up reserving at the Homewood. Didn't find out about my mistake until we got there and it was already too late to cancel so we just prepared ourselves to some sort of bad surprise. Where we wrong. The hotel turned out to be much much better than we expected. Got a studio room with a king size bed and a sofa. It's got a real nice kitchen with all you need to cook (if you like cooking). Since we travel with kids and it was already late to go out for dinner we just went to a nearby supermarket and I bought some food that I cooked in the room. The king bed is awesome. Bathroom's clean, only issue there is the shower glass door doesn't slide open, it opens out so the floor gets all wet. They serve a buffet breakfast in the morning. Didn't like the omelette otherwise it was OK. Got a pool and gym which are Ok. I'm glad I found this place because I will certainly be coming back.

I am a Huge homewood fan so be aware. This hotel is in a great location, right behind the mall. Very clean & well maintained. The breakfast is good & always has cofee ready. I enjoy the business center at no charge. The Embassy Suites is about 100 feet away. it has a great steakhouse in it. Book early it's usually packed

Very nice hotel in a great location next to the mall and several restaurants. The staff is very friendly, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Excellent beds, good A/C (2 units in my room) and a great shower. Breakfast was very good overall, and included several hot items and self-made waffles. Just a few complaints: noise from neighboring rooms was a little intrusive at times -- for example, I could hear someone else's phone ringing while I tried to sleep. The TV did not have ABC, and CBS was so dark you could hardly watch it. One morning at breakfast there was no coffee. Still, I would highly recommend this hotel. I haven't stayed there, but the brand new Embassy Suites next door also looked very nice.

Just stayed in the Homewood Suites last night, and I really can't say enough great things about it. I was so impressed. It is a brand new hotel (only 3 months old) located right next to a beautiful mall. You are welcomed to a lobby that resembles your living room. A giant T.V. and a large "kitchen" where you can get fruit and coffee 24 hrs a day. From 5-7pm, they have a "welcome home" party. There is complimentry beer and wine, and snacky foods. Then the room, it is bigger than my first apartment! A two room suite that has a full kitchen, seperate bedroom, two large tv's (one in each room). They will even go to the grocery store for you if you give them a list! The grounds are nice and clean, pretty pool, new equipment in the workout room. The staff was amazing! The General Manager gave us her personal attention. She was so friendly, and happy to welcome us to her hotel. LOVE IT!! I work for the airlines, and stay in MANY hotels on a weekly basis, (we were at LA Posada before, MAJOR DUMP)!!! But I have to say that in my ten years of flying, this was by far the nicest hotel we have ever stayed in. I Give it a PERFECT 10!!
