I liked this hotel because it was clean. The room including the bathroom was really clean. This is one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed. In addition to that, the bathtub drained really fast, so I didn't have to stand in a pool of cold water during shower. The breakfast was okay. I will definitely stay in this hotel if I am in the area.

I stay at various hotel chains all over the country, averaging over 170 nights a year. It has been some time since I have stayed at this property, but I did have positive experiences in the past. How do I say this: this property is very well run. The night man at the front desk remembered me after over 14 months. The entire hotel has no odors, or chemical masking smell. The hotel and room are very clean, spotless really. The AC worked perfectly. (I write this as I sit in a hotel room with a busted AC unit) There was not one stain on the carpet, on any wall or counter. There were no stray hairs, eyelashes or nails. All the paper was filled and of high quality. I almost never eat any hotel breakfast; they all taste the same to me. I went downstairs to get a cup of coffee, and I got roped into a great free breakfast. I wish four and five star properties were as perfect as my last stay at this Homewood Suite. There are no chain restaurants to walk to, but if you are looking for a nearly impeccable hotel, this is it.

We just returned from a weekend stay at Homewood Suites. The rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the staff was very friendly. As one reviewer reported, the AC is very noisy, but atfer the first night, it didn't wake me up anymore. I guess I got used to the rumble when it kicked on. The reviewer that said their wasn't any place close to eat just needed to do a little research. We are frequent visitors to Austin and recommend the Texas Land & Cattle just south down the feeder from the hotel. Rockfish Grill across from Texas Land & Cattle is also a good place to eat. Nearby, the Springhill Suites across the street has a restaurant called the Limestone which has good food and the Omni hotel across the street has a nice restaurant. If you are driving, Beck's on Congress is located on S. Congress and is only a 5 minute drive from the hotel. They have an excellent menu, not overly priced, a live band, and outside seating. Actually, there are several places along S. Congress to choose from if you are feeling adventuresome. Overall, Homewood Suites is a nice place to stay along Governor's Row in South Austin.

Stayed on a business trip. It was very nice and clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly.I would stay again it was very comfortable and large rooms.

Stayed at the Homewood Suites, South - Austin, TX as a matter of convenience to the airport. The hotel itself is very nice, well kept, clean, and comfortable rooms. My only complaint is that there is no place nearby to eat. Of course there's your typically fast food locations, but that's about all. If I were to travel to Austin again, and chose a hotel for airport convenience, I would probably stay at the Airport Hilton - which is located on the airport grounds.
