We came Hotel Corona in Bagni Di Lucca, to this nice place situated on the streaming river after a long roadtrip from south Tuscany. Owner chef Roberto Merlot treated us with the very best of Tuscan cuisine as well as nice good wine seleccion to match the excellent prepared dinner. He even revealed one of his culinary secrets to us..The clean nice rooms overlooking the beautiful streaming rapids made our sejour even nicer. Breakfast not to forget, abundant and with a big variety prior to our daily mountain trips. Back in the evenings for a new treat in the dining room. Really enjoyable. Grazie mille Roberto. Bagni di Lucca is delightful, and this hotel is in the quietest part of it. We had a room overlooking the river - this meant that we were cool at night and went to sleep listening to the sound of the rushing river. Very peaceful. The food the restaurant was truly excellent - well cooked and varied - all eaten on a little terrace overlooking the river. The hotel itself is clean and comfortable and a fascinating building. Not the choice of someone who goes for five star glitz, but if you want a really good, friendly family run hotel with some of the best food I have ever eaten, then try this.

This unpretentious little gem encapsulates everything good about Tuscany. From the warm friendly welcome to the "simply stunning" food, our stay of 3 nights, in the care of Roberto and his wonderful staff, was an experience to be treasured. We stayed in late December and although overnight temperatures were below freezing outside, we were warm and cosy in our room overlooking the river. We had a great time. The food was fantastic, as were the staff. Don't miss out on this one!
