My ideal place to stay

Have just returned from a wonderful stay at the Mill Hotel, Chester, where the staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We stayed in a premier room with balcony overlooking the canal. The room was very clean and the bathroom with its jacuzzi to relax in was exceptional. We were lucky enough to join the Queen Mary cruise along the canal which was good fun, although please note that the requested 'black tie' was only sported by my partner and one other... some didnt even wear ties, which was a shame. This is our second stay at the hotel and we will be back time and time again. We hosted a dinner party in the Canaletto restaurant for some of our relatives and their partners and the staff did us proud, even showing the youngsters the correct way to pour champagne! The waiting on staff are extremely well trained in silver service which adds to the pleasure of dining in a hotel where the food is outstanding. Unfortunately we did not find time to use the gym etc but were given a guided tour by a member of staff who noticed us peeking round the corner! If you want a good clean hotel with excellent service from friendly staff this is the place to go!!!
Too expensive for what you get

Stayed here with a hen party (there were a couple in the hotel at the same time) so I saw several different rooms and all of them were cramped and look like they haven't been decorated since the 70s. The bathroom was really bad too. The water pressure was so weak in the shower it took me 30 minutes to wash conditioner out of my hair.
On the positive side it's close to the station and the city centre, the spa is nice and the staff were friendly. Ate in the bar and the food was really good.
But overall there must be better value for money hotels in Chester than this.

Walked into Chester Tourist Office picked this Hotel out of a list. Excellent value for money, secure parking and great location walking distance to the town centre. Dinner can be followed by dancing in part of the hotel too... Breakfast very good.

I know this is a bit late, we stayed overnight on Valentines day, The hotel is situated on the Cheter canal. Very pleasant Hotel, staff very helpful. Only one complaint was the car parking, which is not secure. The hotel rooms are of a good size warm and very clean. The hotel has a full leisure pool and gym.
WE only stay bed and breakfast so I can not comment on the evening meal> The brfeakfast was served in the main dinning room, there was a good variety of cereals, fruit and a full buffet type breakfast. All the food was hot and thedre was pleanty of it
