Finding somewhere to stay in the Dordogne that ticks a good number of boxes, while being reasonable in cost, is a difficult task. The Edward 1ER and Arjan and Marije's hospitality however have made this easy for me from now on.
The hotel is a beautiful building right on the doorstep of Monpazier, or rather 100m from the central square but with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. Comfortable, nicely sized with about a dozen rooms, very convenient parking, lovely pool area, a restaurant that pleased all pallates in our party, a good bar and plenty of drinks choices and perfectly located for touring I recommend it highly.
We ate in the restaurant two nights and thought it spendid, yes the selection is small - usually just one entree choice - but I can understand that and believe that exceptions could easily be provided.
Being a 3* hotel means it's not top notch luxury and if I were to make a few recommendations that did not drive the prices up to much I'd include some improvement to the breakfast coffee, new hairdryers and a cheese selection in the restaurant!
That said, it's astounding value with warm hosts who cannot please to much.

Myself and 11 friends recently stayed at this hotel on a golf break. The Dutch couple who owned it couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. They had booked all our golf for us and even sorted a company to assist with our transportation (voyages rey ) who were also brilliant. The weather was fantastic which also helped.Cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Monpazier is a lovely little town and this is the perfect place to stay! The house is beautiful - like a mini chateau - the rooms are very nice, lovely swimming pool. Didn't sample the food as the restaurant was closed for the evening but the very friendly owners recommended a good restaurant in town.
