We stayed here for just one night recently and it was terrific. My friend was sick in the middle of the night and they organised an English speaking doctor without any fuss and the following morning bought us breakfast to our room. The location is terribly convenient with Metro on the doorstep and RER just down the road at Nation. The staff were attentive and helpful all the time. For the price, it's brilliant.

we stayed at the hotel in August for four nights. It's an ok option, with clean rooms, a good breakfast (for France) and friendly service. The room was quite small though, just big enough for a double bed and a tiny adjacent bathroom. The hotel's location is quite convenient, close to metro and RER lines and you are quickly everywhere in Paris. The service is very good and staff at the reception extremely friendly and helpful. If you get a good deal on the room rates, definitely worth considering.

Nous sommes restés une nuit à Paris et nous avions besoin d'une chambre fonctionnelle. Nous l'avons trouvée au Grand hôtel Français. À deux pas du métro Nation et 700 mètres d'un stationnement souterrain. Ascenseur et air climatisé dans la chambre. Chambre assez spacieuse pour Paris. Nous avons eu une bonne réduction parce qu'il y avait eu un léger contretemps à notre arrivée. Bonus! Pour 105 Euros en moyenne, la chambre offre un très bon rapport qualité-prix.

My husband and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Francais for the second time in June 2007 (the first time was in 2003). We decided to stay here again as we found the hotel so convenient for the Metro and the RER and as you are so near to Nation you have the bars, supermarkets, restaurants etc within easy walking distance. We found the hotel to be clean and the staff very friendly - they can't do enough to help you. The breakfasts are great and the range of pastries brilliant. The only thing I would say about staying in this hotel is be aware that it is an old building and therefore it does not have great soundproofing. The hotel is situated on a busy road so you will get traffic noise. We could also hear the people in the next room use their shower and flush their toilet - it was so loud that it actually sounded like they were in the same room as us. I didn't remember it being this bad from our first visit. I would recommend this hotel for your first trip to Paris as it is so convenient to the RER if you want to go to Disneyland Paris but if I do return for a third trip (I love the city so much) I would probably look around for another hotel.

Excellent value and helpful staff especially the man on reception ! Really good breakfast - fresh fruit salad, croissants,coffee etc all served up by a kind lady who did not laugh at our attempts at speaking french.Would definately stay there again.
