We wanted an independant hotel with easy access to the autoroute and a picture we saw of the hotel looked good.
We were not prepared for just how close to the main road the hotel was but as our room was at the back of the hotel we did not notice any road noise.
Overall the hotel needed some TLC at the time of our stay.
Our room was satisfactory on the ground floor of a seperate building with a little patio to sit out on - no view though.
The open plan bathroom was off a seperate sitting area - little privacy.
The room did have a damp smell to it.
We liked the fact that we could bring our own wine into the restaurant though after a few days neither of us could easily remember what we had eaten except that the pudding was enormous. So the meal was OK but not memorable.
The people running the hotel were very friendly and helpful.
We would go back because of its location but would need to know that some remedial work on the overall decor had been done.

Admittedly arriving on a Sunday night in the pouring rain isn't the best start but were shown to a room that had not been cleaned so were moved without an apology. Agree with the last reviewer about the food and overpriced breakfast. The hotel could be lovely but needs a good clean up and some smiling staff

The Ermitage de Courton looks good in photographs but the reality is a rather tired property in need of a good tidy. First impressions were not helped by the presence of a large kitchen appliance, placed near the entrance, awaiting collection. Room was quaint but the bathroom was an addition to the sitting area and not well executed. First major disappointment was discovering there was really nowhere apart from the front of the hotel to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. The wine we ordered was brought in a cooler not an ice bucket which I feel indicates a poor attitude considering the wine was far from cheap. Aboslutely no effort was made to bring out even a bowl of nuts or crisps to accompany the drinks. The evening meal was nothing exceptional and seemed to focus on quantity rather than quality. We left the following morning without bothering with the overpriced continental breakfast.

Spent 3 nights there in March. Wonderful all-around service. Superb gourmet restaurant run by a young talented chef. Limited choices but everything fresh and perfectly presented. Brought local wines from "vignerons" to dinner on all 3 nights and no corkage fee. Rooms are very large by French standards and actually suites. Very efficient staff. Restaurant/hotel manager very helpful. Great value for this class of hotel. I have recommended it to many friends since my stay and they have raved about it also. A jewel in a region where there are many shabby, run-down hotels and over-rated restaurants. Best to take the demi-pension (half-board) deal, which includes room, breakfast and full-course dinner with all taxes and gratuities included.

We stayed at the Ermitage for two nights while touring Bourgogne. The hotel is conveniently located by the highway leading to Aloxe-Corton etc. The building is old and charming and the staff are relaxed and friendly. The rooms are BIG! Even the double room where we stayed would be called a suite elsewhere. There were however a few disappointing niggles for a hotel in this category. The doors did not fit well and were difficult to close. Hot water did not come until after a considerable wait and the bath had no shower curtain - hence one had to shower sitting in the bathtub (!). NB also that breakfast is not included in the room price and costs a hefty €20 per head which I found a bit overpriced. For dinner, the restaurant is good and the food abundant. You can bring your own wine purchases and they will serve these with your meal without any corking charge - a nice touch.
