The Manoir is well situated between Honfleur and Deauville and is certainly beautifully furnished throughout, unfortunately this hotel has one significant problem - its restaurant is too small to accommodate all its guests!
Somewhat tired and looking forward to an evening of gastronomic delights, promised on the hotel's website, we were greeted with the news that the hotel's restaurant was fully booked. They would not even provide room service to 2 desperate travellers who had just experienced a 14 hour stormy crossing of the Channel. My wife's request for a simple snack in our room was even denied. Clearly, anyone determined to book this hotel will have to book a table well in advance. Sadly, my experience will mean that I shall not be booking a room here again. Although I cannot fault the comfortable surroundings, and the quite outstanding barman who could not have been more attentive, in my opinion a good hotel should also make an extra effort to accommodate its guests, whatever its star rating. Heavy on the frills but lacking in soul and substance!

This is a large modern villa, with a limited number of rooms. Very quiet location, 10 minutes from Deauville. Room (we had a "prestige seaview") ok and very well kept. Good food, though a bit overpriced. For wine lovers : winelist with 240 entries, some very rare items at bargain price; also good selection of liquors, cigars and coffees. Service is very kind, but not really professional. They promise to open very soon an indoor swimming pool.

On the road between Deauville and Le Havre.
Great position for those travelling the area.
Its not too busy and the Manoir is set back off the road in its own grounds- these are still in their infancy, many more years before they mature.
We thought it was going to be a traditional old manoir- it wasn't- it was a very new manoir trying to be old manoir.
Now don't get the wrong idea, it was very good indeed.
Very high quality but just not authentic "old", you could imagine it at Disney.
The staff were excellent.
Professional, enthusiastic and interested- especially the restaurant staff.
On the matter of food they were historic- the chef has a great future in front of him but sadly only 20 people can enjoy it as thats the max covers.
Sadly although they advertise its opening in 2005 the leisure centre is still WAY OFF completion, I suspect it will be 2006 before it opens...so don't expect a swim, sauna, hamman or jacuzzi!
The rooms are huge, and well maintained, good quaity fixtures and fittings.
Great emperor sized beds.
Mini bar,CD player(they will let you have CDs)sat TV etc.
Bathrooms a tidge too small.
Lift to all floors.
Good views front ,side and rear although Le Havre is not pretty to look at.
Overall a great place to stay for a few nights and good value given its quality.
The restaurant- if they can keep the chef- should be expanded and "stand alone", the place should be made a restaurant with rooms!
Ideal for couples- children?-maybe not!
