Hotel was in a good location- within the walls, approximately a 5 min. walk to restaraunts, caf?s, shops, etc.
I forgot a pair of $600 sapphire earrings on the desk and remembered approx. 2 hours after checking out. I called the hotel but they were nowhere to be found. When asked if the maids had been questioned, the receptionist said "yes, and that they had them sign a statement that no one had found them."
I wouldn't reccommend that you stay at this hotel because of the dishonesty of the workers.
Also, the parking lot is extrememly small and hard to manuever into.

Excellent location; friendly, helpful, english-speaking staff; free wireless internet access(typing this in my room); creperies, restaurants, bars, nearby but no problems; away from main tourist drag, but close to everything you want to see.
Would have no hesitation in returning, or recommending to friends.

I stayed with my son in a twin room which was clean and basic with sky tv. I found the location really handy and it was nice staying within the walls of the intra muros. The breakfast was average - usual continental croissants with jams, bread, eggs which you would have to boil yourself, yoghurts, tea and coffee. But I would not recommend the breakfast, as although it was fine - it was also 12 euros and, if all you want is a coffee and croissant, then there are places nearby which do this for less than 5 euros. It is a friendly hotel and the staff are willing to help and all I spoke to, could speak English. I have heard reports that over the road is a bar which gets noisy into the night. I stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night and never heard anything, however maybe weekends are different!
A delightful hotel

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The room we had was large and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. One night I wasn't feeling well and did not go out to dinner and later in the evening the hotel staff kindly put together some crackers and cheese and other items for my husband to bring to me. We found the breakfast delicious and ample. The location was perfect (parking is limited but in November we did not have a problem) but the best of everything was the staff. They were friendly, charming and helpful. We will definitely return.

We had a very good experience in our one night at this hotel. We decided to stay in St Malo at the very last minute (about 6pm) and found online recommendations to this place. When we showed up, the very helpful clerk allowed us to view our room first, gave us a rate better than that quoted online (so contact them directly to book!), and recommended an excellent restaurant nearby (Cafe Simon).
Price was great, room was clean, bed was comfy and bathroom was pristine. Free Wifi and cable tv was a plus. Whole hotel looks newly renovated and seems like it should cost much more than 70 euros per night.
