Nous avons tres bien termines cette fin d anne 2007. L hotel est au centre ville (pres du marché ) Le personnel tres dynamique et souriant. La chambre est spacieuse et bien décorée. Nous avons fete la st. sylvestre dans un cadre tres romantique, bravo au cuisinier pour ce superbe diner.

After reading the reviews of Residence de France we almost cancelled our booking for 3 nights in June but were pleased that we did not. We had booked a suite which was large, well decorated, clean and quiet. The hotel staff were all very pleasant and all they conversed with us in English. Although Le Residence is an 8 minute walk to the harbour I would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

Attention car sous ce seul nom se cachent en fait deux établissements : un hôtel 4* de 11 chambres et suites dans un bâtiment vieux de plusieurs siècles, et un hôtel surement pas 4* dans un immeuble dont la vocation première avait dû être une « résidence service « ou même un centre de repos médicalisé vu la taille de l’ascenseur. Si comme moi vous séjournez dans la partie « résidence « vous disposerez d’une chambre certes spacieuse, lumineuse, calme, mais très très très zen. Le mobilier minimaliste et le fait que presque tout soit blanc donne en fait l’impression étrange que la décoration a été oubliée. Quant aux fournitures elles sont identiques à celles que vous pouvez trouver dans un Formule 1 : télévision minuscule sans TNT, ni bloc, ni stylo, ni mini bar et dans la salle de bains deux petits savons plats et deux centimètres cube de shampoing. Pour brancher votre ordinateur ou tout autre appareil il vous faudra au choix débrancher la télévision ou l’halogène qui est l’éclairage principal de la pièce. Côté petit-déjeuner, même si le personnel est aussi avenant que celui de la réception, c’est le côté zen et froid qui reste prépondérant. Le buffet est correct sans plus mais le plus étrange est de devoir ouvrir un frigo vitré pour se servir de tout ce qui est frais ( jus, lait, charcuterie, salade de fruits ). Très bien situé au milieu de rues commerçantes et à moins de 10 minutes à pieds du port, l’hôtel dispose également d’un parking souterrain ( 10 Euros par jour )

In France, you expect that the price of the room comprizes everything? Wrong here: you paid for the room? You will get an unexpected taxe de sejour, a continental breakfast of less than average quality, and if you rented a car, you will have to pay for the car park! Better chose another place!

We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and booked a 2 persons studio résidence. The room was very small and the windows and curtains not clean at all. The bathroom was neat . Because the studio layed in the back, we had no problems with streetnoise , it was a quiet place at night. The bed isn't very big (140m) and the matras need urgently replacement.. The first night after a long drive form Belgium, we stayed in the hotel for dinner. The menu looked promising but it turned otherwise....it was poor, a restaurant not worthy..a great disenchantment. As starter we ordered oysters and they were not fresh at all. With breakfast the coffee was not served warm, I missed fresh fruit and they placed a refrigerator in the breakfastroom if you want butter, cheese, etc .. not professional at all. The underground parking space is very limited and small. It's a good place to overnight if you don't expect high standards and we advise to dinner outside the hotel. At Rochelle harbour you have a number of very good restaurants.
