My husband and I booked with Last Minute.com, and stayed over Christmas for 5 nights. We booked a taxi before on internet, which cost 600kc each way and was very comforting to know the driver would be waiting for us when we came through arrivals.
The hotel is in walking distance of everywhere, (but be prepared to get tired), and on an ok street. At night it can be a bit scary walking back, even along the main streets, as there are lots of homeless drunk men about, some in groups, that maybe look more threatening than they really are, but not knowing, not nice.
The hotel is spotless and very modern. Our room on the 4th floor was lovely, though I do agree with previous reviews that the shower is too low, so you can't actually stand and wash your hair whilst showering, unless you are quite small. There is a lovely big tv on the wall, but only has cnn in english, probably because the hotel has more foreign guests stay than English. The room was far too hot, as I expect the heating had been put on full as it was -3 to -6 outside! We ended up not having it on the whole time and it was comfortable then.
The staff seemed ok. The one time I did ask why there wasn't tea or coffee making facilities, as it says on Lastminute.coms website, I was stared at rather crossly and the man shrugged his shoulders and told me, 'no' after looking on the Internet. That was one thing we did miss, coming back at night, not that late I may say, and the bar being closed, and not being able to make a nice hot drink before bed. The hotel does seem a bit dead.
Breakfast was very good. I think 7-10am is a very good time. One day it did get so busy we nearly gave up, trying to get what we wanted as it was too overcrowed. The choice of food is great, and we never felt like eating lunch as we were so stuffed!
We didn't get to use the wellness room or even see it as the jacuzzi had broken down and couldn't be repaired as it was Christmas, which was a real shame.
On the same street, left out of the hotel is The Lemon Leaf, Thai and continental restaurant. We loved the meal there, one of the best places we ate at and not very expensive. Across the road, from the hotel and down a side street is the U Flecku pub, which most people say you have to go there for the beer. We did and disliked the place. The beer was ok, but you get given an appertif, which you don't feel like you can refuse, and when you get the bill, they charge you for it,100kc which is about £2.85 for each. You literally sit there, choking on the smoke and they come around with trays of beers ready to exchange your empty one. There are lots of nicer cheaper places elsewhere.
Back to the hotel. Apart from the few minor things I mentioned, which would make it an excellent hotel, we would recommend it.

had a great time in Prague. Hotel excellent, clean, fantastic location. We did not spend much time in Hotel. We got up and returned at night time. Literally 5-10 mins walk for all the main tourist resorts. Highly recommend this hotel, especially for its price.
Wear comfortable shoes as i was not aware of the many cobble stone streets and tiled pavements which could be slippery when it rained and leaves were lying.

We stayed at this Hotel for 4 nights as part of a Long Weekend in Prague.
The first thing we noticed was that the staff were nice enough, but don't speak much english at all. We were the only english guests there, most of the guests were German.
The room was quite nice, not as big as the hotel website suggests, but still an ok size, also very clean and tidy. The bathroom was modern but things such as shower heads and mirrors were quite loose. Also the only English-speaking television channel on the room TV is CNN, which is the same American news stories repeated over and over again, so take books and Magazines for in-room entertainment! The air-conditioning/heating worked well which was good as the weather was bond cold when we were there!
The Spa in the hotel is nice, you have to pre-book your time in the spa at the reception then it is literally all yours. (No extra cost).
Avoid breakfast. It isn't any good. Cheap cheese, cheap meats, and watered down milk for your cereal. Also avoid the bacon (we think it was actually Ox-tongue) and the under-cooked scrambled eggs. Eat breakfast out!
The hotel could be a bit closer to the main tourist areas but it was certainly no more than 10 minutes walk from the centre.
Prague as a city is Cold, Wet and Cold. It is also a bit daunting at night so you have to be street-wise when out and about. The Old Town is the nicest area by far. Don't go to the Big Museum at the top end (or south end) it wasn't that good at all unless you like looking at rocks.
It was a nice stay but there are far nicer hotels in the city for not much more money. The Best Western Hotel was in the perfect position and looked stunning, we will be staying there if we go back.
