I was very apprehensive about staying in the Regina Apts after the previous reviews. I was prepared for the worst! However I was pleasantly surprised........the Regina is located right in the middle of the old town-a stones throw to the beach and to the gorgeous restaurants and lively bars. The rooms are basic but what do you expect for 300 euro for two people for 7 nights??! Everything was very clean and the air conditioning was excellent. We enjoyed the rooftop terrace where you could drink your own alcohol from the mini-mart in the outside bar! All in all I would recommend the Regina to people who are looking for a good time but not the RITZ.

First off, for the cost of staying here, you should be prepared to expect certain "issues", as the other reviwer has stated.
The plus points first off. Location: perfect! 2 minute walk to the beach, 2 minute walk to the main square where there´s plenty of bars, restaurants and such. The rooftop pool was also a nice suprise. It was small, but I haven´t heard of many hostals with rooftop pools. Also, the outside bar area just off the reception was pretty nice to just chill out too, they even let us bring and drink our own drink!
Now, the bad points. The bathroom! Now, if aeroplane bathrooms are what you like, you´ll love this one - it´s tiny! I even struggled to swing my bag of cats in there! It smelt like a sewer, the toilet would only flush like once every hour, no more. The water was a joke! - "warm" water for about 3 minutes, then freezing cold - for 4 people sharing one bathroom, this was clearly an issue. It was also a pretty "skanky" colour and was very unhygenic.
The noise. Now this was a very bad thing. We were placed on the ground floor, so I advise anyone who stays here to seriously argue having to stay there too. You can hear literally EVERYONE coming and going throught the large main door that slams everytime someone leaves/enters. The walls are seriously paper-thin and you can hear everything that´s said/done nearby. We even heard a fight kick-off on the 3rd floor at about 1am!
The beds are pretty awful. I´d recommend pre-booking an appointment with a chiropractor before you go stay here. I´m still suffering now and I have a back like an ox! The overall decor of the rooms are pretty shabby and I agree with everything the other reviewer has stated.
The reception was "ok" I guess, however, it wasn´t 24hours as stated. We needed to check-out at 8am and the door was locked!

I booked the Regina Apartments as they were cheap and a last minute get away. Due to the price i wasnt expecting the Hilton, however when i arrived i was very disappointed. The room and hotel was in desperate need of refurbishment. The bathroom consisted of a yellow suite with yellow walls and the toilet looked like it was about to fall off the wall. It also smelt terribly of drains throughout the apartment. The kitchen was hidden in what looked like a wardrobe with sliding doors and the ceiling was covered in some form of rotten tiles. We stayed for one night and then booked out of the hotel.
However, the hotel did have its advantages. It was situated in an excellent location, only 5 minutes walk from the square, which is great. It also had parking facilities which is very rare in this part of town. The staff were really friendly and i actually felt bad when we were checking out. Also, as dated as the hotel was, it was clean.
So my advice to anyone planning to stay in this hotel is, if your happy with cheap and not particulary cheerful, then the Regina Apartments would be a good choice.
