Not bad for sightseeing-Poor if you are looking for nightlife
Guest name: PaccoGuz, New York
Has seen better days, but safe, clean and friendly staff.
Location is excellent for day time activities. If you are looking for nightlife I suggest you stay around Bella Vista.
But over all good value for your money

Contacted directly but they failed to ever come back to us. Out of necessity we asked for a room on arrival at the airport info desk.
Our room was pretty shabby, the breakfast was piece of cheese and piece of cake..the whole place is just plain tired.
BUT we had service from the reception staff that was far better than that received at the 4 Points Sheraton here - and that is double the money excluding breakie.
Its convenient, local, tatty but really, ok.

My parents and I (a 26 yr old female) stayed at Hotel Espana in April 2007. We reserved our triple room despite having read mostly negative reviews of the hotel on Trip Advisor, unable to pass up the great deal, but hoping for the best. The hotel’s public spaces (foyer, breakfast room, bathroom, internet room) were basic and slightly run down, but colorful and mostly clean. Our room was large with 3 beds (a “triple” room, for which we paid $75USD/night), a private bathroom, TV, small refrigerator and a desk with a chair. Two out of three beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom clean, yet the floors creaked and the bathroom tiles were neglected. Breakfast left much to be desired, but one must remember that Chilean food is generally terrible in and of itself. For breakfast, expect a piece of sweet pound cake, piece of cheese, fresh fruit cup, greasy scrambled eggs and a bowl of frosted flakes with milk. Bad tea and instant coffee are included as well. The hotel offers free (but slow) internet on 1 computer on the 4th floor. The staff are friendly and speaks basic English; however, expect not all requests to be fulfilled. The morning we left Santiago we never received our wake-up call (if not for our own alarm clock, we would have missed our flight), nor did the taxi we requested show up to take us to the airport. Upshot: definitely not luxurious lodging, but covers the basics for budget travelers.

The rooms are nothing fancy, however the service is amazing!! It was my first time leaving the US and they welcomed me with open arms (and I do not know spanish). They speak English very well and do their jobs with gusto. If we needed a cab they ask what time we wanted it and one would be there at that time. Also, they gave us recommendations about the city and they had tours you can go on. I learned a lot on the tours, they are long but worth the money. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are friendly and treat customer like they are million dollars. I would definatly suggest this hotel to ANYBODY going to Chile. The hotel is right in the middle of the city so it is convient and easy to get around.
Book a place today!! The price is great and the service is spectacular.
