We stayed at this hotel in September after booking with Escapewith us. We had previously stayed at the Isla Cristina Palace (which is a fantastic hotel). We arrived at the hotel, the receptionist could not speak English, so we had to wait to book in, this in itself is not a problem, after all we are in a foreign country. We asked where to park our hire car, we were told that we could use their car park for 9e a day, we only used it once, we parked on the road as it seemed a safe area. On entering our room the room was on the 4th floor, with a view of the road and of a building site,.When booking we did ask for a room with sea or pool view we did ask if we could change the room, we were offered a room with a limited seaview for an extra 20e per night, we declined the room as you would of needed to leaned over the banister to of seen the sea.
On the 2nd day we noticed ants in the room, we tried to kill as many as we could but there was too many. We asked at reception if we could be moved to anywhere else in the hotel (we would of excepted the limited seaview) they said they did not have any spare rooms, but sent the maid up with a spray. She fumigated the room, we both had to leave as neither of us could breathe with the vapour smell.
The next day we went out, on our return the ants had returned. We asked again for the ant spray, we thought we had killed most of them until we got up in the morning and found them not only on the floor, but also in my bed. We asked the reception manager if we could have another room, he said the hotel was plagued by ants, and we should think ourselves lucky as its worse in the summer. The maid was sent up again to spray the room, she said there are fleas and changed the bed linen. We spoke several times to the reception manager who said he could do nothing to help.
There were other causes of complaint, which we had not complained about, food that was supposed to be hot, which was at the best warm or cold. There were a number of complaints to reception about this. To ensure you had a hot shower in the evenings and mornings you had to make sure you had one before 7.30pm, or 8.30am. We feel that this is not a 4 star hotel, not only because of the infestation of insects, cold food, lack of an inspiration menu, cold showers, but the general ambiance of the hotel and unhelpful staff.
After 2nd night we left the hotel and was lucky to find a room at the Barcelo hotel, which was a real treat after our experience. Isla Cristina is a beautifu place to visit, if you are looking for relaxation and a friendly resort this is the place, just avoid this hotel.

We have just came back from Isla Cristina in Huelva where we stay in the Hotel Oasis Isla Cristina.
The Hotel is nice and comfortable with very good facilities and the pool is very nice to have a cool-down after a day sightseeing. The rooms are very spacious and clean with your own kitchenette which you can hire for €5 per day. This is a family hotel and the staff are very friendly and professional and they make you feel very welcome. The only two bad points were the night entertainment and the buffet.
The entrainment started at 10.30pm and lasted until 12.00am and unfortunately the speakers are so loud that if you are not into that kind of thing or just want to have an early night, you have no escape and have to put up with it.
The buffet was edible but the food was badly cooked and, in our opinion, not of a standard you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
The hotel is in a short walk from the beach which is fantastic, 14km of golden sun with dunes and pine tries, and not high-raised hotels or buildings next to it!!! Isla Cristina is a small fishing port and the tourists are mainly Spanish from Seville that have apartments in the area. The town is not gear up for tourism which is very refreshing but at the same time, there isn't much to do. There are several things to do in the area: visiting Doñana, El Rocio, the walled city of Niebla, the mountains and small villages of Sierra de Aracena, Monasterio de la Rabida from where Columbus departed for his voyage to America, etc., but I would recommend hiring a car as the public transport is not very well linked.
All in all we have a good holiday in Isla Cristina, relaxing and the beach being the best point of it, and we will definitely go back.

We were here for a week in October 2007 and enjoyed our stay. Our room was bright and spacious, and in fact, the whole hotel has a nice airy feel. The food was good, we booked on half board term (not something we normally do) and enjoyed every meal. Most dishes were cooked Spanish style and there was lots of choice and variety. The staff were great, in particular one the cooks was incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The pools area's good and never felt busy and the entire hotel has a nice, laid back, relaxed feel. Finally, I have to mention that everything was spotless, the cleaning standards are very high and obviously well managed.
We were very impressed and have no real criticism.
