Despite my request for a quiet room (having read previous reports) we were put in room 12 which is directly opposite the bar on the street, which doesn't close until 230am - and then the lorries come to clean the rubbish/bottles! The double glazing didn't shut properly, so did little to keep the noise down and then between 5am -630am the people in the room above us and next to us were packing and checking out, and walking around in clompy shoes, ensuring little or no sleep as we could hear everything. We asked to move rooms, and they offered us room 3, on the ground floor - even nearer to the bar! So we suffered another night and then moved rooms the following night when one became available on the top floor- which was right next to the lift and equally as noisy. I loved the design and location of the hotel - it had a great feel to it by day and the staff were very pleasant - but I had three of the worst sleepless nights I have ever experienced. Take ear plugs if you are a light sleeper and insist on a room off the road side! Breakfast was ok - a small selection of juices, cold meats and cheeses and delicious cakes - but not worth the 15 euros. Beds were very comfortable and rooms tastefully designed - clean and fresh looking. I would have loved the hotel had it not been for the noise factor for us, but I know others haven't found it a problem - so just be aware, but don't let it put you off. The central location was fantastic - on the main strip of tapas bars and easy walking distance to the cathedral, Alhambara, shops and the Albacin district. Took a tour bus, but to be honest saw nothing we hadn't already seen on foot - so not worth the 15euros as if had very little to offer in way of sights. Alhambara was spectacular - an absolute must to pre-book tickets to avoid the queues. Overall, Granada is a great place for a weekend break. Airport close by to centre (20 mins and 27 euros in hotel car or 4 euros on bus- 40 mins). Easy to walk around, nice food and plenty of bars and a beautiful backdrop (the Alhambara and snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains!)

Granada es una ciudad repleta de encantos para quien la visita, un lugar en el que el romanticismo rebosa por todas las esquinas. Dada esta circunstancia, resulta acertado elegir un hotel que vaya a juego con la ciudad, que forme parte de una experiencia tan intensa como inolvidable y nos proporcione un punto de descanso óptimo para nuestra visita. Las opciones en la ciudad son muchas (Hoteles Zaguán del Darro, Ladrón de Agua, Casa del Capitel Nazarí, etc.), pero pocas tendrán una relación tan óptima entre calidad y precio y un servicio tan exquisitio como el Palacio de los Navas. El hotel está situado en pleno centro de Granada, en una calle cerca del Ayuntamiento con algunos bares de tapas y restaurantes en sus inmediaciones. El edificio que lo alberga (un precioso palacio del siglo XVI restaurado hace unos pocos años) muestra tanto en el patio cubierto como en las habitaciones un esmerado sincretismo entre lo antiguo y lo moderno, una mezcla óptima entre el recogimiento y la tranqulidad propias de un edificio histórico y la comodidad de un equipamiento a la última (televisor con pantalla plana, muebles de sieño, baño cómodo y funcional, etc). El desayuno (incluido en el precio), es más que correcto: jamón y queso exquisitos, zumo de naranja y leche frescas, un surtido de bollería, varios tipos de pan, mantequilla y mermelada, cereales, yogures y fruta (aemás de las bebidas calientes, claro). Aun así, lo que yo personalmente más destacaría del hotel es el cuidado exquisito que se pone en todos y cada uno de los detalles (el chocolate en la habitación, la limpieza impecable, los artículos de cosmética en el baño, la decoración) y - sobre todo - la gran amabilidad de su personal (se nota que es una empresa familiar). En definitiva, les animo a que lo prueben, que no se arrepentirán. Al hacer la reserva, eso sí, pidan una habitación bonita y tranquila y desde el momento que entren por la puerta no se preocupen de nada, que estarán en buenas manos. Hotel ideal para parejas, y, además, gay-friendly :-)

Detailliert restauriert, nette Zimmer, aber winzig! Da wir das vor dem Buchen aus den Bewertungen in div. Portalen ersehen konnten, hatten wir vorsorglich gleich ein, wie in der Hotelbeschreibung vermerkt - im Gegensatz zum Standardzimmer -, größeres Superior-DZ gebucht, aber auch das war so klein, dass man sich fragt: sind dann die "Standard" in der Größe einer Besenkammer? In unserem Zimmer (#32 - Dachgeschoss) stand 1 franz. Bett, daneben 2 Nachttischchen, rechts kam schon die Außenwand mit kleinen Fenstern und links schloss die andere Zimmerwand an. Dem Bett gegenüber stand eine Art Schreibtisch (eher ein Untergestell mit Glasplatte), darauf ein kleiner TFT-Fernseher, davor 1 Stuhl und daneben EIN zierlicher Korbsessel. Der Raum war damit "voll" (wo da noch ein Zustellbett - das wir zwar nicht brauchten -, Platz gehabt hätte und in der Beschreibung erst ab "Superior", nicht jedoch bei einem "Standard", möglich gewesen wäre, blieb uns ein Rätsel), nicht einmal die auf den Zimmerfotos vor dem Bett abgebildete Fußbank hätte noch davor gepasst. Der Durchgang zwischen Bettende und "Schreibtisch" war gerade mal so breit, dass man einigermaßen durchgehen konnte. Es war sauber, o.k. Im kleinen Wandschrank, der im separaten schmalen Eingangsbereich eingebaut war, hingen 4-5 Kleiderbügel, darin standen die Minibar (Hotelbeschreibung) -sie war leer - und der mobile, nicht eingebaute Safe. Wohin mit dem Gepäck? Für 1-2 Übernachtungen mag das noch gehen, aber bei einem längeren Aufenthalt? Bademäntel (u.E. nach braucht man diese in dem Hotel nicht unbedingt) und Hausschuhe waren vorhanden. Das Badezimmer hatte nur eine Wanne - keine Dusche, die verbrauchten Utensilien (Shampoo,Duschgel etc.) wurden am 2. Tag nicht ergänzt und die im Hotelangebot erwähnte Früchteschale stand bei unserer Ankunft (nachmittags) nicht im Zimmer - hatte man uns nicht erwartet?. Sie wurde erst gebracht, als wir das Zimmer als "Superior" anzweifelten und um einen Zimmerwechsel baten. Unser Wunsch wurde aber verneint, da wir ja bereits ein "Superior" bekommen hätten. Die Damen an der Rezeption waren im Allgemeinen nicht sehr bemüht, um es gelinde auszudrücken. Eine Zeitung ( wie u.a. aufgeführt), gab es nicht. Der Frühstücksraum liegt im Basement und das im Preis inbegriffene "kalte Frühstücksbuffet" entpuppte sich als erweitertes "Continental Breakfast". Neben dem Üblichen gab es z.B. nur 2-3 Sorten Aufschnitt, 2 Sorten Käse in Scheiben (wie aus der Packung), keine Eier. Der Orangensaft war allerdings frisch gepresst. Dieses Hotel bietet, außer Zimmern zum Übernachten, einem kleinen Innen-Patio/Lounge, nichts, das den Preis rechtfertigen würde, selbst wenn das Frühstück eingeschlossen ist. Da gibt es in der näheren Umgebung und vergleichbarer Lage, viele kleine, individuelle Hotels, sogar mit 4 Sternen, mit wesentlich mehr "Hoteleinrichtungen" und diese sind teilweise sogar günstiger oder ähnlich in den Raten, selbst wenn man dort den Frühstückspreis hinzurechnet. Es gäbe außerdem zig preiswerte Möglichkeiten - nur einen "Steinwurf" entfernt von jedem Altstadt-Hotel.
