We have just returned from a 6 night stay at the Bali. We have two children aged 5 years and 12 months. We arrived at midday and checked in earlier than the prescribed time, which was a relief given we had two young children cases etc. We were allocated a room in the smaller building but unfortunately this had not been cleaned from the previous guests, had no pool view (which we had paid for) and there was no cot! We returned to reception and calmly informed them of the problems and they quickly reallocated us a room in the bigger building on the 5th floor, which was a really nice room.
The pool area is great and the pools are really shallow which is good for young children and ensures that they are warm most of the day (provided it is sunny of course!).
The food was lovely, plenty of choice, the salad was very fresh and they even had chips and fish fingers for our fussy eating 5 year old. Breakfast was lovely but would agree with another review that the coffee was truly awful - but you can buy a nice one from a bar nearby so not a big deal.
Overall the hotel was great and we would have enjoyed our stay had three of us not been ill with flu symptoms - not that the hotel could do anything to stop that!
BUT A WARNING FOR TRAVELLERS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN. The hotel entertainment cranked up at 9pm and stopped at midnight ish. The music was really really loud. Thankfully our two managed to sleep through it, but others may not. I would recommend you ask for a room at the back or higher up to try and escape the noise, if you think it will be an issue.
The distance from benidorm is no problem, taxi is cheap 6 Euros and the bus (No 12) stops right outside the hotel, its busy but fine.

after booking this hotel at the last minute which deeply regret
the only nice thing i could say about this hotel is the foyer ...
the staff were so rude when we arrived at 9pm on 1st july 2008
we ordered some soft drinks and we requested some coffee
when the rude waiter brought our coffee i said it was americano
with milk she replied you ordered americano and refused to bring milk so after saying to her we would go to management
she took them away and brought them back and said drink it ...
the hotel does not welcome in any way different nationalitys or may it be BRITISH ... the toilets at the pool had not been cleaned
for i don't know how long, no soap.... the rooms were as basic as
a 2 star self catering establishment we paid for 2 twin rooms for 2 adults and 4 children we got 3 single beds in each room at
reception they talked among theirselves and laughted they seem
to have a big problem we were not spanish however THIS was a
little 4 night break my friend and our four children. which We feel we were totally mislead regarding this hotel . MYSELF
and my family have stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels in different parts of the world but this was the worst I have ever experience.THE maid did a very good job but thats as far as it goes.

Felt compelled to write a review following a recent stay at Gran Hotel Bali. Was apprehensive to say the least having read some of the negative reviews left by past guests however I was very satisfied with all aspects of the hotel, rooms, cleanliness, friendliness of staff and selection and quality of food in the restaurant. Overall can't see how anyone could complain about this hotel, which is of a high quality, in a quiet area far enough away from the hustle and bustle of new Benidorm and thus perfect for a relaxing vacation.
Finally the entertainment comprises mainly of dance artists which overcomes language barrier's but is quite repetitive.
