Mille bravos. Très bon souvenir.

Exceptionally friendly staff, very good food in the restaurant (including locally caught Sturgeon and Trout) and a good wine list make this a must-stop-at in the region.
Only downsides are the very-clean rooms are just OK in terms of decor - trying to be luxury, but not quite making it. The bar a little stark. Breakfast the usual uninspiring Spanish fare. And the pool unheated so a little chilly in October. The hotel has disabled access, inc lift/elevator. And a pool table. But not much else besides. But overall it's lovely, with gorgeous views of olive groves all around. Very relaxing.
The village of RioFrio is a 15 minute walk down the (steep) hill, with restaurants - Pacos is a local draw, with cheap and OK food - and a (shabby) Sunday market. RioFrio also boasts a river with most amazingly-healthy and well-fed ducks and trout I think I've ever seen! The Alhambra/Granada and Cordoba are 2hours away by car, Malaga airport 45 minutes. The sleepy little town of Loja, 3 km away, is also a nice little sidetrip.
There IS a train line that runs right next to the hotel, but has I think only one 2-carriage train a day, so noise wasn't an issue. The train will stop, we were told, for parties of 15 or more.
Enjoy.
