While the hotel is not bad, the neighborhood it is in is not exactly the most visitor-friendly. I did not feel safe walking through it.
I got to the hotel and they were flying the US flag upside down. Took a picture of it, if you're wondering...
The desk attendant, during check-in, told us he was going to hang on to our passports and give them back to us later, when what he had to do with them took a matter of 30 seconds. While this might be okay and protocol when staying in a hostel, I was not comfortable leaving my passport with him or anyone else for that matter.
Room was small but clean. Had a nice balcony off the room, but it's in a shady section of town, so there isn't much to look at. The rooms have very thin walls, so I could hear conversations of people across the hall clearly.
When we booked, it was listed as Rome Central... hardly. The street it was on was outside all of the tourist maps. It wasn't far from the train station, or from a stop on the Metro train, but still not what I would consider center of Rome.

I stayed at this hotel very recently and couldn't be more pleased. Although I would advise that you take a detailed map, as I did find it slightly tucked out of the way.
Our room was extremely clean along with the rest of the hotel. Our room (No. 401) was amazing, a little small but an amazing sun terrace with loungers, table and chairs and a large parasol.
The local metro is still under construction but it is only a 5 min walk to the next stop.
Our room was very quite during the night and was serviced every day.
I would most certainly use this hotel again if I returned to Rome.

We liked the hotel. And because of that it didn't really matter that the bed was uncomfortable and rickety, the drains smelt and breakfast was bland. We still felt kindly towards it and I would recomend it.
It's best feature is the roof garden with it's eyeball level view to the statues of San Giovanni in Laterano. It's a simple terrace with a small allotment of tables and chairs, serviced by a noisey 3-person elevator but its size works in its favour; it has a privacy that makes you feel it's yours.
The room decor was good, neutral but stylish. The fridge was cheaply priced, the TV didn't work (but who cares), and it had large openable windows, as well as air conditioning. It was clean and had just enough storage space. The great thing was the shower in the en-suite bathroom, which was fantastic.
The hotel itself is situated on a quiet street about a 15min walk from the Pantheon and the center of Rome, with the colloseum on the way. It is also very near a metro station. The staff were friendly, although sometimes the doorbell must have cursed us because after midnight we always seemed to have to wake tne night clerk before he would let us in.
Overall it has left a good impression...(and I should mention that the drains were being fixed when we left).
