When I arrived at the Atlanta, I went to reception and checked in with no problems and was given the key and directions to my room.
The room was fairly small but for the price it was absolutely fine. I also found the room and bathroom to be spotlessly clean and fresh with everything working properly.
I have only given this hotel 2/5 because of the following:
On the first night I went out and returned to my room to find that my bags had been moved into the KITCHEN (apparently this is where bags are stored when people are waiting to check in or after check out for collection later) when I asked why, the night porter could not give me an answer.
On the second day my room was not serviced at all, not even the bed turned down! Also when I came in at night and asked for my key, the night porter had been informed that I'd checked out and He then had to find my booking confirmation that showed that I was booked in for 3 nights (concerning especially had there been a fire as I would not have been registered and consequently not "looked for")!
I didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on the quality, however since members of the public are trudging in and out of the kitchen all day (albeit the door is locked, but when I went to retrieve my bag, I was left alone with other people's bags, so presumably people were left alone with mine (complete with passport etc.) and also members of the public in a food preparation area is seldom a good idea!
In summary, generally a good hotel, clean and with friendly and helpful staff, however a simple failure of communication slightly spoiled what would have been an excellent stay!

Great Location to Experience Amsterdam - Hotel Atlanta

I recommend this hotel and would stay here again. It's not your typical big lobby, fancy reception, lots of elevators, big restaurant hotel. BUT THE LOCATION IS FANTASTIC! it is centrally located - within a 30 minute walk, you can get to anything of interest in Amsterdam - the museums, the main shopping streets, train station, waterfront, see and photograph all the canals. Step outside the hotel, and restaurants and cafes are to the left, right, and all around Rembrandt Square. Street musicians and entertainers are there on and off. Great bargain is the hotel breakfast - for a flat fee, you can get all the refills on coffee, juice, cold cuts, cheese, cereal, milk, yogurt, bread you want and toast is available. note: Amsterdam restaurants do not provide free refills on beverages. The rooms and bath are clean, beds are comfortable. The Hotel is housed in a block of older buildings - there is no elevator and it has the traditional stairs - a bit steep - to get up to the reception desk from street level and to the upper floors. I found this charming - yes, older folks may find it a challenge. Staff was very friendly and supportive - the hotel has wireless Internet in their breakfast area, so it does offer services to business travellers. And they have a computer terminal at the front desk that they swing around, you can check on your emails and the status of your return flight. We arrived at 8am knowing checkin wasn't until 2pm, they do have luggage storage, they offered us coffee even though we weren't checked in, we freshened up in the bathrooms, then headed out sightseeing, got back at 1pm, room was cleaned and we checked in. While I was there, an international broadcasting conference was on, so the rooms rates were at peak for a few days. Note: on Saturday nights, with the sports bar across the street and the trendy bar around the corner playing music with a heavy bass beat, it won't get quiet until 4am. But all other nights, it was always quiet by midnight. P.S. - our room did not have a clock radio, but the Plasma TV could be programmed to turn on at a preset hour.

décevant

Excellente situation pour cet hotel . Chambre décevante, sombre avec vue sur cour un peu sinistre et les souffleries de l'hotel mais nous retiendrons surtout le service absolument glacial voire désagréable lors du petit déjeuner .
