After reading a number of bad reviews i was dreading my holiday in these apartments but ended up having a great week. Apartments were small but clean and were cleaned every day we were there except for Sunday. Supermarket beside apartments, taxi rank across road, short walk to centre of Santa Ponsa resort either on main road (past shops/pubs/resturants) or coast walk from beside pool (go past small cove and walkway right in to santa ponsa beach though not sutiable for prams). Plenty of shops and resturants around apartments as well. Great views from apartments (had booked sea view) and from pool which looks over sea. Free entertainment every night in "the square" straight across road from apartments starting with kiddies disco at 8 and bands/tribuite groups etc. until half 11 which is why apartments in this area dont bother putting on entertainment. Was on family holiday with teenage children and elderly parents and most guests were elderly couples or families with children. Not really suited for young people as night life is based in the centre of the resort and its a quiet area. Pool has lifeguard on duty all day and while some parts of the pool are very deep you can stand in most of it and there is a large kids pool as well as a shaded playground, pool table and net ball court. Resaonably priced pool side bar which serves food during day. Found staff to be very helpful although not all speak english and did have to hire toaster at 8 euro for week but got deposit back on last day. Would book these apartments again. One lift was out of order but the other was working and our apartments were only 1 floor from reception and 3 from the pool and just used the stairs. Very safe resort, good police presence especially at beach. I was glad the apartments didnt live up to the bad reviews that have been posted and will stay again. Would recommend for families with children of all ages and elderly couples or those just looking for a quiet holiday.

We stayed here with our two kids for the Easter holidays. The resort was very quiet but the weather was great. Pay the extra for a sea view it is definitely worth it. We went all inclusive and the meals were fine, even managing to cater for our fussy kids. The apartment was clean and spacious and there was maid service with fresh towels nearly every day. As other reviews have stated, one lift was out of order most of the time. The outdoor pool was freezing but because it was out of season the indoor pool was also open. The staff were friendly enough and there was table service for drinks at lunch and dinner which is a nice touch for all inclusive. You must pay a visit to Shenanigans Bar in the square. Our daughter had her 6th birthday while we were there and the owners, Brian and Wendy, made such a fuss of her. It had a lovely family atmosphere. We have booked for another hotel in Santa Ponsa in August but would definitely go back to this hotel.

Just back from a two week stay in these apartments, as most of the review have said before me, Spectacular sea views but not really for families with young children.
The rooms are small, Our rep (booked with Budget Travel) told us that there are bigger "suites" but they have two bedrooms and are more expensive. The food in the downstairs buffet was very poor. for what its worth if you are staying here you should try eating in the restaurant across the road called "Miami" very nice food and very friendly for kids.
Facilities need a major overhaul, the children's play area had a plastic climbing slide and wendy house which were both filthy and in dire need of replacement. There is no club.
If you are renting a car I would recommend renting from the reception as they were very cheap (?85 for three days with a car seat for a child) Drive up the west cost through the mountains!!
The Cleaning Staff only seemed to empty bins and give a light sweep of the room, change towels and sheets.
Overall I would recommend it for older couples with older kids who may not need a kids club and enjoy the evening entertainment in the spanish square across the road.

We we're a party of 10 & each one of us enjoyed our stay at the Jardin Del Mar. The location is good. The accommodation was absolutely fine for the money we paid (?188 each). Although if you like sea views i would recommend you pay the extra because our balcony was opposite some trees so we didn't have a view. The pool area is pleasant & has a nice view of the sea. We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Restaurants we'd recommend are Mexican - Amigos, Le Pergoda & Maison Del Mar (Seafood). For good breakfasts (make your own) we enjoyed the Royal Garden. If i go back to Santa Ponsa i would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is a good location to get to the square for evening entertainment (5 minutes) and about a 20 minute walk to the beach.
The hotel offers a traditional food menu offering some local delicacies such as pig's trotters, rabbit and squid; not good for kids. Being half board meant that we had to spend a fortune on eating out to at lunch time to overcompensate. Soft drinks, tea and coffee that are available with breakfast are not included in the price of the evening meal. Oh and watch out for the cock roaches! The atmosphere in the dining room was unpleasant and the staffs were rather abrupt in their manner.
Lifts were rarely working which means that getting from the pool (on the bottom floor) to reception (fourth floor) and to you room can be hard work.
The Rooms were small and come equipped with very little – if you are self catering you can hire additional equipment such as kettle or toaster (may be as cheap to buy one)! If you have a sea view it’s a cracking view of the bay.
Oh and don’t bother going to the gym (there’s hardly any equipment); I took one look and took the key back.
The outdoor pool is colder than the sea at this time of year (the kids could only manage 10 mins at a time). On a positive front the combination of facilities (volley ball court, pool table, table tennis, pool, and bar/grill) does make for an ideal place to spend a day in the sun.
Happy days!
