I took my Girlfriend to Paris for her birthday and getting the right hotel was very important.
For starters it is so easy to get to. It is a mile from L'arc de Triomphe just off one of the main roads that feed to the arch.
We arrived to be greeted by a very friendly and helpful womoman who saved me from my efforts of rubbish french and spoke very good English.
The rooms are not huge, but have everything you need. Mini, bar safe, plenty of plug sockets etc. The room was clean as was the bathroom. The only minor moan I had was the tv froze a bit sometimes, but I didn't go to Paris to watch TV, I was only watching whilst waiting for my girlfried to finish getting ready.
It is withing walking distance of almost everything, there are masses of different restaurants and a supermarket about 100 metres away.
Thourouoghly recommended.

Great location on the west side of the Siene from the Eiffel Tower. Rooms are very basic, small but clean. 5 minute walk to the Trocadero or Boissiere Metro stops.
The hotel is very small. You must leave your room key at the reception desk whenever you leave. It was a little odd but no problems. We had a package deal that included a continental breakfast. I don't recommend it. The breakfast choices were very limited, Corn Flake cereal, sugarless yogurt and a croissant. Not worth the money. Most days we went to the market to get fruit and yogurt.

Hotel is small, good location. no restaurant or bar. continental breakfast ok. have to ask for anything other than bread & juice. Great airconditioner BUT ours dripped all night and when we left room in the morning, my husband informed them of the leak. We arrived back into our room late at night to find that their idea of fixing the leak/drip was to place a bowl on the floor under the drip. Needless to say, then next evening when we arrived back to our room, it SMELLED of mildew!

Do not stay at this hotel because they do not deserve your custom or your good comments.
We booked this hotel through an agent in January for a 2 night stay in May. I have used the booking agent many times and this review is not their fault.
We arrived at the hotel to check in at around 3pm. We gave our names and the man behind the desk said in broken English, oh yes there has been a problem, I have booked you a taxi. Pardon? we replied, he said they had double booked the room and we could not stay, they had booked us into another hotel and a taxi was on its way to take us there.
We realised there was nothing that could be done so I asked the man to point out on the map where the new hotel was so we could get our bearings. He couldnt point it out, he had no idea where it was! This was an absolute disgrace! They were sending us to a hotel they had no clue about, not even where abouts it was.
We had no choice so got into the taxi and ended up travelling to the new hotel which was further out of town, not far from the ring road. We were check in and given a single room. The only room they had.
This completely ruined Paris for us at the start of our 2 week holiday and we were forced to stay in the new hotel and make do.
We feel very let down by the Etoile Trocadero as the situation could easily have been rectified had they just let us know as soon as they had realised the mistake. We could have changed hotels to somewhere we wanted to be rather than them making us go to a hotel that was of no where near the same standard, with a single bed and on the outskirts of town.
I do hope that you all heed my warning about this hotel and do not go there. They do not deserve customers if they are going to treat them the way that they treated my husband and myself.
