We stayed at The Atrium hotel in May 2007, the hotel had been open for about a month so everything was all quite new. The rooms are bright and trendy and fairly priced one of the reasons we chose it. It's quite a walk from the river but close to the octagon where you have alot of the cosmopoltan bars and restaurants.
Our first room looked out on the street which was lovely but after the first day we had water coming up through the carpet and had to change rooms to a smaller one which had no bath. The breakfast wasn't great, it all seemed quite dry, so we skipped it altogether the next two mornings. On our last night we came back not that late thinking we could have a nightcap in the hotel bar only to find all the lights of and the staff having a private party in the dark.
Overall the hotel is ok for a city break but I would not recommend friends stay there.
Also be aware if you use taxis to show the driver the full hotel address as there is another Atrium hotel in town and we got caught out!!!

The Atrium is a bright and fresh hotel. Most of the rooms have windows onto the impressive central atrium with its huge clock and the bar area at the base. We stayed in a twin room at the front of the hotel which was one of the few rooms to have a window onto the street. The room was well furnished with flat-screen TV in a quirky modern style. The bathroom boasted a huge shower. The breakfast buffet is extensive and should have something for everyone. Reception staff were always attentive and helpful. The hotel isn't in the most plush location, however it is only a short walk to the nearest Metro which is two stops to the city centre. The fabulous New York Cafe is only a couple of blocks walk away.
