Just returned from my latest trip to the beautiful city of Cape Town, we stayed at the Fountains hotel for 9 nights and have to say will have no qualms about staying there again.
Room service was excellent, clean towels everyday, even if we had the do not disturb sign on the door, no matter what time we left the room it was clean and fresh when we returned, on the whole the room was more than adequate for us.
Breakfasts were plentiful, check in a breeze and the hotel bar was a pleasent place to start the evening. All staff were, in my opinion, friendly and welcoming in particular the night manager of whom we had many a laugh with.
I wish you will and thanks for helping make it a great trip.

We were happy with the Fountains. The breakfasts were adequate, even if the restaurant in the evenings was simply OK. Did not have any credit fraud. We were upgraded to a suite, which was nice, although we did not need the kitchen. Pity about Cape Town is that its not safe to walk at night. Even so we did walk to the restaurant at the CTCC and survived to tell the tale. Great restaurant, by the way, sad I can't recall the name. African style.

I travelled to Cape Town and stayed at the Fountains Hotel in one fo their self catering apartments for 3 nights. We had a gorgeous view straight onto the fountain and from the little balcony we could sip coffee and look at the sea. We were also very pleased to be so central. We booked a taxi to go to Clifton 4th beach and Caprice and it was so cheap in pound terms! Otherwise we walked down to the hotel at the convention centre for massages or out for breakfast as we had chosen the self catering route. I found the staff to be extremely helpful. The gym was lovely and we made great use of the sauna. The self-catering apartment is definitely the way to go. We had 2 rooms - a double and twin, both ensuite and a large lounge, dining and kitchen area. I had a cocktail party in the apartment when we were there and there was more than enough room and i ordered food from the restaurant downstairs which was great. We also had my sister stay for a night and the staff made up the sleeper couch for us. Altogether a lovely stay!

We stayed in the Fountains Hotel twice within 16 days as part of our honeymoon and had no problems at all. I left change on the table, which did not disappear, the staff was friendly, helpful and very pleasant to have around.
I gave my credit card details to the hotel reception and not unauthorised bookings were made.
All in all a solid hotel, in the heart of Cape Town, clean, reasonable and in walking distance of almost everything.
One hears about all this CC fraud and stuff, use your common sense and you will survive.
