We recently went to several countries in Europe and stayed and various hotels, pensions and villas. 3 of our accommodations were booked at known 2 star hotels. We arrived at the Hotel Place de Clichy and immediately felt uncomfortable in the area. Once inside the hotel had a foul odor. We checked in, went to our room and were immediately appalled. The shower curtain was moldy, there was mold on the carpet leading upto the wall. The walls were yellowed and cracking and the bottom of the bathroom door was corroded and black. I could go on but these were the most notable. The hotel was fully booked and we had no other option but to find another hotel. The thing is, this hotel cost 70 Euros and we found one in a much better area and 1.000 times better for only 10 more Euros a night. These people have no right to 2 Star rating or to charge what they do.

This is a cheap Paris hotel. It is very basic but we found it clean and the staff helpful and pleasant.
If you are looking to spend lots of time in your room while in Paris then this is not the place. If you want a shower and a bed it is OK.
It's main virtue is location- right next to the metro and good buses. easy walk to Montmartre and Sacre Coeur. Great food options from fast food chains (if you must!) to cheeerful bistros and cafes, to the excellent Wepler restaurant accross the street. Cinema across the street had great movies, a few in English with French sub titles.
If you're used to international hotel chains you'll notice the difference but this is Paris and life is in the street not in a hotel room. And unlike the chains here the WIFI is free and reliable, In London I paid 20 quid for 24 hours!

Apart from this Hotel being easily excessibly to a near by metro, that was all it really had going for it. It could possibly have the worlds smallest lift, bearly room to fit one suitcase in. The room was small and dusty with a hoover that stayed outside our door for the duration of our stay. Minimal furniture and broken shower head, very just a few of the faults. Despite having what looked like newish double glazing the noise from the street was very loud. The temperature in the room very hot, and we were unable to turn it down oursleves. Beds were old and dusty- having since returned with fleas. Breakfast minimal, half a bagette and thimble of orange juice. If you have the choice, do not stay here!!

It is like a Hell! Beleive me, too noisy that you cannot sleep, very small rooms, not clean , and have problem in pumping systems, if you open the window to circulate the air, mosquitos come in. Never book in this hotel. Forget it.
people in breakfast room don't know English even a word!
This is the worst hotel I have been there in my life.

This is a budget hotel. It is what it is. It's clean, comfortable, good location, friendly staff. I have nothing bad to say about it. It's just a little bit outside the main touristy part of the city, but everything is accessable with the metro, so no worries there. You are in the middle of a vibrant night life area so if that's your thing it's perfect. I really enjoyed my stay here. It was a few years ago now, so I don't know if much has changed, but I'd imagine it's as it was. Great value and great stay.
