I stayed at this hotel twice last year. As with the other Etaps I have been to, the rooms are simple but clean. It is about a 5 minute walk from the train station. The hotel is actually half-way between two different stations, so you can get off at either.
While the hotel is very close to a train station, keep in mind that it does require a 20 minute ride to get down to the central historical part of Paris to see Notre Dame or the museums. However, this extra time was worth it for the price of the hotel.
The street is also a little run-down and slightly seedy, but it was safe and again, worth it for the price and the cleaniness of the hotel itself. I got back from sightseeing every night around 11pm, and never had a problem.
There is a nice bakery close by with good baked goods in the morning.
Again, a great value hotel though the downside might be a slightly longer subway ride to the attractions.

We stayed in this hotel for a weekend. Found it amazing quality for the price we paid. If you are expecting the ritz, dont stay here. However, if you are intending to spend your days out sightseeing (as we did) you will be extremely happy here. The room was more spacious than we expected to find, and was spotless contrary to what other reviews had said. The only complaint we had was that the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign was completely ignored by the hotel cleaners, I'd say most guests only stay one night, and they seem to be very strict on the 12 o'clock checkout. I had to point out that we were staying a second night. Once this had been understood, they were very helpful and asked did the room need anything. In the loby there were several vending machines stocking useful items such as maps of paris, overnight esstentials, aswel as food and drink.
As for the location, it was in a very nice residential part of the 19th. My girlfriend was happy to wander around alone during the day and night, we felt that safe. We discovered an AMAZING little bakery accross the road from the hotel which we would reccommend to everyone!! There was also supermarket, chemist, etc very nearby.
The hotel is situated inbetween two metro stops, both of which were less than 5 minutes walk away. Although it was slightly outside the centre of the city, being that close to the metro means you are in the centre in 10 minutes!!
Great value hotel

This hotel was included as part of an all inclusive trip we did over easter. We stayed at Etap for 3 nights and don't really have any complaints.
ROOMS: We were lucky enough to get one of the bigger rooms (532). It was at the end of a hallway and had 4 large windows (of which only one opened) which allowed plenty of light into the room. The room was very quiet (no street noise, or noise from othe rooms) and was what i would consider to be pretty spotless. The toilet (which is literally in a closet) reminded me of being in a caravan/RV, as too did the shower. However the water was hot and pressure was great. Shame you can't really stand under it though. The shower head is so close to the wall you can't get under it and the shower head was not adjustable. Apparently after speaking to a number of other people on our trip in other rooms, they too found the same thing. Bed was quite comfy (if you like hard beds) and floor space was sufficiant for luggage for 2 people.
LOCATION: We found the location of the hotel quite handy. It's a 5min walk to the closest rail/tube station and the majority of the main attractions are within a 25min train journey. We all felt quite safe wandering around late at night. Although if your looking for nightlife, you may be better off looking elsewhere. There is a small supermarket directly next door which was handy and numerous ATM machines on the same street.
BREAKFAST: Unless you get there as soon as breakfast starts.... don't bother. The last morning we were there i couldn't even find a bowl or a napkin, there was no milk and surprise, surprise no staff either. It's pretty much white bread, white bread and more white bread. I was only in Paris for 3 days and i'd be quite happy if i never saw a baguette ever again. Cereal selection was limited (something which looked like cornflakes and another chocolate kiddy cereal). But i guess at the end of the day your paying for the hotel, not a substantial breakfast. But even just some fruit would have been nice.
