I booked through Tablet Hotels, which claims to offer only pre-screened, chic properties, but I found it fell short. First of all nothing in my room felt clean. The room was not that old but was already showing the result of shoddy materials and poor day-to-day maintenance. The bed was not comfortable, the curtains were difficult, the lighting was iffy. All just bleh. Being next door to a police station was not so hot, but even worse were the various people around the station triple parking, smoking, loitering. Not romantic Paris as advertised. There are better choices in Paris.

We try to go to Paris every year and last year we discovered the hotel Pavillon de Paris. It is a nice little boutique hotel close to Place de Clichy. The first advantage is that it is very easy to access from la Pheripherique by car: a few kilometers in a straight line. The hotel is carefully styled. Room this year was small especially because they had to put in a bed for our five year old daughter as well. The breakfast (make sure it is included otherwise relatively expensive at EUR 21) is super: good croissants, pastries, tasty cheese and ham, fresh fruits etc: it is really an excellent way to start the day and the three of us really enjoyed it! The location is excellent: it is close to Montmartre: walk to the Moulin Rouge and go up these small streets with nice shops that sell vegetables, cheeses, flowers etc: actually we think this is the best part of Montmartre. A little bit further to the other site are the big department stores like Galleries Lafayette. And on the Place de Clichy there is a very convenient subway station with a good connection to the Champs Elys?e and with a one change of metro to Trocadero for the Eiffeltower. We liked the hotel this year again, so we 'll be back!

Just returned from this very new hotel, the location is great, not far from opera and not far from lively pigtale...sited in a quiet residential street, the only noise is from the police station next door.... The hotel was very quiet, rooms small but very modern and very clean, bed was bit small ! We had room with small balcony and window which opened so we could watch Parisian life.didn't see a lot of staff but the reception staff we spoke to were polite and helpful. There was a bar and small area for breakfast but at 21 euros each it was very expensive, hence we didn't taste it. however there were small bakeries and fruitshops at end of road and most of the bars offewered breakfast at about 8euros just up the road... Would go again although I think they need to reduce their breakfast cost, not a lot of atmosphere but I do like Parisian life....very bland. Well worth a visit great location, we used the L'Open tour bus , pricey at 32 euros for 2 days travel but you can get off and on at 70 stops on 4 differnet routes 5 mins from hotel, great way to see Paris . Hotel on yellow route....Lovely rsturants nearby...safe area ...we strolled home okay plenty of locals and tourists....good for people watching...

Lovely boutique hotel, slightly off the usual tourist track but in a lively place nonetheless - close to Pigalle and Clichy, with a Metro stop only 5 minutes' walk. Room was clean and well designed with a modern minimalist feel. Ours had a balcony which was unexpected and a nice addition. It was a little on the small side but who goes to Paris for the hotel room?! Overall excellent value for money and we would definitely stay there again if we were in Paris.

I have read the other reviews and I am confused... To be honest, it is not the cleanest hotel in the world. Nor is it the best appointed. And it doesn't necessarily do the little things too well either. But its not as bad as everyone has said. ROOMS: The room was small - this is true. But the beds are decent size (2 singles pushed together form a massive double). The bathroom was awesome, with a boiling hot shower, decent bath tub and bath robes. And the slippers were a nice touch as well. Wardrobe space is adequate, the curtains cover the windows.... VIEW: The view is non existent because of where the hotel is located. LOCATION: Three Metro stations are close by - Liege (which is about a 45 second walk away), Place De Clichy (which has good links) is 5 mins away and St Lazare (which connects to EVERYWHERE) is 9 minutes away. What else do you need to get around. For those who Eurostar it to Paris, it is a 25 minute walk to Gare Du Nord (if the weather is nice) - bearing in mind that you do walk through the very vibrant Red Light district via Pigalle, Anvers & Place De Clichy. STAFF: Friendly and accommodating. We arrived early and they rushed a room ready for us rather than let us leave and come back later. VALUE: OK, it is a little overpriced but then again so is the majority of Paris. In conclusion, I would stay here again if I were to visit Paris.
