Have spent 3 nights at the end of December 2007. Our room was of a nice size with black-out curtains that did not close. As the sun did not come out for 3 days it was not a big problem. The minibar (not filled completely because they run out of few items) was in a modern piece of furniture that did not match with the rest of the decor.
While the food in the restaurant was very good the waiting staff was not keeping up and was the least pleasant to deal with. With the 10% service charge automatically added to your bill they obviously had no need to provide good service. It is pricey but the dinner food was worth it. On the other hand charging for their breakfast 25 Euro per person was a rip off.
Both ladies in the SPA were from another world – always helpful with a big smile. Book your treatments in advance as they get rather busy.
Overall it was not a bad stay but I agree with one of the previous reviews that it did not offer a good value for money.

We stayed one night in a classic room overlooking the vineyard. The room was larger than we expected with a seperate sitting area near the double-door entrance (Room 4). We had our seven-month old daughter so we requested a crib. We were pleasantly surprised to see they had the crib already set up with a teddy bear, child's robe, and duck washcloth. The linen in the crib was also very nice. We booked the "Relax Alsace" package which included champagne in our room, 4-course meal, wine, and breakfast. I would highly recommend this package as it includes everything.
Positive points:
- Excellent service. Felt they went above and beyond to take care of us.
- Room and bed were wonderful
- Overall decor and view
- Breakfast in room. An American style breakfast with scrambled eggs and bacon.
Needs improvement:
- The 4-course meal was pretty good however I was not impressed with the appetizer (pea foam) or second course. The main course (veal) was excellent.
- The pool was a bit cold
- The tower was closed
Overall, I would probably stay here again if I was ever in the area. I believe the package was a good value.

A very nice chateau in a quiet village. Nice grounds, very romantic setting. We stayed at the classical room. It is not in the main building but only few meters away. Room was big and very good. Hotel has an inside/outside pool, sauna and steam room. Staff was very friendly. They opened the spa area way after closing for just a few guests and kept it open past mid-night, until everyone left.
There is a restaurant in the chateau. Romantic, with a beautiful view. Very expansive. But the food is really fancy. If you are looking for a 5 star french dinning experience, then it is worth the money.
I would definitely recommend this chateau.

We stayed here for 2 nights in June and it was wonderful. We sat on the deck overlooking the vineyards and the view toward the Rhine, while we enjoyed a bottle of creme de alsace. We explored the lovely town of Rouffach. And we enjoyed both pools.
Our room was not in the main chateau but was a good size and quite nice, considering we paid well under $200. Dinner in the restaurant was quite good, but expensive. The other night we had dinner in Rouffach.
It was just a very pleasant place to be, but then I love this part of the world.
I think the taxi from Colmar was about 24 euros. There is also bus and train service a few times a day.

This was my third and longest visit to this Chateau hotel. I still enjoy coming here. Some of the negative comments are true and it can be expensive if you don't book in advance and get a deal of some sort. This year I got a reasonable rate which included breakfast. This made good value, though the breakfast was still pricey but no more than an average hotel in England, everything was on the menu from cerials, strawberries to smoked salmon.
To eat in the restuarant is very expensive. 46, 64, 84 euros for the table d'hote. Al la carte is even more. This year the wine prices have gone through the roof. cheapest about 25 euros but the average price for an average wine 40-45 euros and you can pay over 300 euros if you wish. You don't have to eat in the restaurant though it is very good. I see it as a once in a while experience. There are other good & cheaper restaurants in nearby Rouffach.
