A very central hotel situated above Dunnes stores, on entering the hotel via the lift to the second floor you are met with a typical andalucian charm, a lovely styled hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurante very clean and offered a selection of english or continental breakfast. The rooms were very clean and there was spanish and english tv available. Overall for the price this hotel was impressive, would certainly recommend it.

las rampas is a traditional spanish looking hotel. spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. i booked 3 single rooms which were in fact doubles so nice and spacious, couple of minor gripes,my room smelt strongly of moth balls and there wasn`t any plug sockets in the room, only one very high up the wall,no good for an iron!there was one in the bathroom so i had to place my kettle on the toilet for it to reach the socket, very hygienic, not! the maid came daily. pool area fine tho it doesn`t get the sun until after lunch, tho we came in may, it might be earlier in the summer, pool area locked until 11am,which stops people reserving sunbeds at the crack of dawn, brilliant idea, no bar but we took our own wine to drink. hotel close to rail and bus stations, also close to beach,2min walk. hotel also close to main eating and drinking area called fish alley, plenty of choice of restaurants. we stayed b&b ,selection of english, continental, fruit, yogurt etc,we ate between 9.30-10am so things seemed rather cold, unless replenished, most of it edible, overall i enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would stay again, jill,Leeds

I spent four nights in Las Rampas on a B&B basis and can without doubt say it was the best value hotel that I have ever stayed in. The Ritz it isn't. But what it is centrally located - walking distance to bars, restuarants and the beach. The room was reasonably sized and spotless. Bed linen and towels changed on a daily basis, even those with obsessive behaviour disorder would be satisfied!
The Spanish style of the hotel makes a very pleasant change from the run of the mill 20 storey high hotels found elsewhere.
The breakfast was better than adequate, with a self service buffet consisting of sausages, egg, beans, bacon, potato waffles. There was also cold meats, croissants, jams, cereals, fruit juice and tea and coffee.
If you stay here or even elsewhere in Fuengirola, avoid half-board or full board as there are literally hundreds of reasonably priced restuarants nearby. ( I recommend The Vagabond - a decent three course meal for about 8 Euro and The New Dynasty which does a set 4 course meal for under 6 Euro! ).
Downsides: Can be noisy at night, no balcony - although the swimming pool area is quite pleasant,
However all in all I stayed in a twin room for 4 nights for ?115 which works out at under ?14 p.p. per night including breakfast.
For somewhere of this quality and location, I think that is real value and expect to stay there again often in the future.

We booked our holiday through TravelRepublic and the transfer to the hotel went wrong. Therefore we had to get the train to the hotel which turned out to be remarkably easy and very cheap. Fuengirola is a large town and the train station is only 5 mins away from Las Rampas hotel and there are many signs to direct you. Therefore I would advise not to pay the £22+ for a transfer but to get the train from the airport for only 2 quid.
Now to the hotel:
GOOD POINTS:
From the outside it doesn't look like much but then you get a lift up to reception and the hotel reveals itself to be exceedingly elegant and welcoming. The staff were friendly and helpful and the style of the hotel was lovely with a nice garden leading to the rooms. Our room was spotless and easily the cleanest hotel room that I have ever stayed in.
Also, the rooms were cleaned daily; there was an outside pool (very small) and the hotel was situated just a 5 minute walk from the beach. There were internet facilities and the hotel is surrounded by restaurants and bars.
BAD POINTS:
The hotel is part of a shopping square, like a piazza, and therefore it can become very noisy. We came on the day of a festival and therefore there was lots of noise from 'merry' locals and there was also an Irish bar located right under us. At first this was exceedingly annoying because the noise would continue well into the night. However, after the weekend things quietened down a bit and the noise reduced. We tried to change rooms at one point but the room that we would have moved to was smaller and so we chose to stay.
The food was particularly bad. At first I thought that it would be bearable as I quite like chips, but the selection of food was exceedingly limited and the taste often bland. Chips and rice with a meat and fish was served for lunch and dinner every day and by the 3rd day of the holiday I could not face dining there again. On one occasion all that was on offer was chips, fried scallop and a suspect looking fish dish; I considered the food inedible. Breakfast was ok i.e. under cooked bacon, fried eggs, beans and a selection of breads.
I would recommend only getting BB and that’s only if you have to but then again we found that food outside of the hotel was very expensive. We had lunch one day that came to 24 euros and dinner usually came to around 40 euros. This is not much different than a meal in the UK. The food was also quite bland and the choice mundane.
Apart from the food I cannot really fault this hotel. We made the most of it and got the bus to a large mall called 'Parque Miramar’ where we went to the cinema and on another day we got the train to a station 2 stops before the airport stop (can’t remember the name) where we ate at a lovely American diner (there were loads of restaurants there from Chinese to Portuguese food).
I wouldn't go back only because I felt that the town was to geared towards tourists but the hotel was lovely and if by chance I did end up back in Fuengirola I would stay at Las Rampas again.

We stayed at this hotel mid august and thought it would be really busy but were quite surprised........you could get a bed round the pool!!! We found it was more spanish orientated with few english (which made quite a change). Rooms were spacious and had good quality air con. They had shower and bath, tv and safe only thing missing was a fridge!! Although there are drinks machines near the restaurant.
Regarding fuengirola, i found this to be family orientated. There were mainly restaurants and little nightlife around this hotel. Close to the beach and many restaurants. Would recommend!!
