Very cold, no heating on in the middle of October!
The lift sounds like it is breaking and kept us awake most of the night, and the noise from the street the rest of night made sure we could get very little sleep at all.
Breakfast the next day was an amazing experience, one that i will not forget but not for the right reasons.
At 10 Euros per person, here is our breakfast.
Told to sit at a dirty table and watch while the owner sweep the crumbs onto the floor, ask for a coffee and tea, I had the coffee pot plonked in front of me, Now thinking that the norm was to use the cup that had been placed on the table already, I poured a cup and started drinking, much to my surprise whilst I had my cup in hand the owner threw another cup at me, and this was followed quickly by some bread buns, 2 each. Luckily I managed to avoid being hit by them. My daughter wanted a cup of Hot chocolate, a reasonable request only for us to be ignored by the owner on 3 occasions and eventually got some luke warm milk for the chocolate. No cold milk for cereal no fruit juice.
So what did we actually get for 10 Euros each
1 Coffee - 2 Bread buns and some jam and a pot of strange yoghurt
You would be better going to MD's down the road (5mins) which has a better breakfast for 1/2 the price.
Of the 5 receptionists we saw 1 or 2 were pleasant but the others were just being french I guess.
The owner (Madame) was extremely rude and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone apart from my enemies

Stayed for the weekend with my mother. Not far from Gare du Nord in very nondescript part of Paris. Front door permanently locked. The room was tidy and beds clean. BUT most thing falling apart and badly patched - desperately in need of a refurb if they want even two stars. Black mildew abounded in the bathroom, toilet seat broken, sink jammed and wouldn't drain - they promised to fix it, but didn't. Breakfast was fine.

We stayed for three nights at this convenient little hotel that is well placed to walk to many of the Paris tourist destinations. We were upgraded to a larger room (one single/one double bed) and so for the two of us, there was plenty of space. Our room overlooked a small park on Rue Lafayette which gave some pleasant greenery and activity for us to observe. I am a light sleeper, but the traffic didn't bother us on Rue Lafayette - we had certainly had noisier rooms during our four weeks in France; often in small hotels in small towns with no double glazing!
Our room was clean and tidy. Only problem could have been that the fridge didn't work - but we were not travelling in summer so that didn't pose a problem.
I also recommended this hotel to my niece on her first trip to Paris. She returned to rave about the friendly staff and excellent location.
All in all, I recommend this hotel as being a good two star (not three) budget hotel.

Absolument pas un 3 étoiles
Guest name: Anonymous
