The room was perfect (!!!) and had a wonderful view! The food (diner buffet) in the evening was cold and untastful. However, we just paid ? 165,= for two persos, three nights, half board (? 82,50 each person)... That's why we rated this hotel above average.

Having read the previous review on this hotel, was fearing the worst about the attitude of the staff, so I can't be more delighted to report that my friend and I had a fantastic stay.
The check in staff spoke good english and with enough spanish to order a beer and water for sunbathing by the pool, we were very well looked after, we had two rooms, one on the 8th and one on the 11th and both were really clean, well decorated and had lovely deep baths as well as showers.
The resort is for the spanish, (mainly the older generation post the holidays) and i think we heard only 3 or 4 english people in 5 days but it was lovely, but they all love to attempt to talk to you, so having a little spanish was great and necessary to work out some of the tapas menus :)
Breakfast was good, great choice of hot and cold food and again good service.
If you're looking for a place where they serve english breakfast, pies and warm beer this isnt the place for you, if you want to enjoy a very laid back spanish resort with wonderful beaches and friendly locals and great restaurants it is the place.
A special mention to Estella who worked in the bar and the restaurant, she always had a smile and was really helpful with my awful pronunciation.
thanks again for the warm hospitality, oh the train service from valencia north to gandia runs every half an hour and only costs 3.75 euros per person so much cheaper than by taxi, so with ryanair and easyjet with flights under 50 pounds a lovely place for a long weekend

Just come back from a 4 day break. Gandia as a place is fantastic. Lovely beach, loads of restaurants to suit all budgets within walking distance of the hotel. Important to note that this is not a tourist destination which means you need to brush up on your spanish as the staff/locals do not speak english. Hotel was clean, pool dissappointing as it is enclosed by 4 walls which means that sunbathing is not really an option. Buffet was below standard but there are other restaurants within the complex. Staff tended to have the "manana" attitude but soon got used to it. Rooms were fine, request 9th floor or above otherwise you will not have a view. Remote did nt work for tv which did nt matter as only english channels were CNN News and MTV. Would definitely go back to Gandia but maybe to a different hotel.
