We have just returned from a lovely week in Tuscany based at this hotel. The hotel is in a lovely position away from the main throughfare, but within easy reach of everything you need.
The hotel was very good, but in need of some redecoration.
There is a very relaxing pool where a beautiful lunch is available.
All the staff are very helpful and most speak very good English. The cleanliness of the hotel can not be faulted.

We stayed at the Grand Hotel Golf, Terrenia and on arrival was given a residence room for self catering - very disappointed so we asked to change, this was done without question, why they did not give us the second room in the first place I do not know (trying it on maybe). The 'private' beach we should have been charged for the use of the sun umbrella, but as it was out of season we were let off. All-in-all it was a relaxing holiday. The breakfast as expected was a true continental breakfast but plenty to eat. The staff were very friendly, but more than disappointed on our last day as there was a wedding reception we were unable to use the terrace and the pool was 'closed' for maintenance!! It states last renovated 2001, maybe it should start again. We were not happy about the smoking policy as this was allowed in the rooms and right outside our room was a table with an ashtray and this was used quite often, so being a non-smoker this was our only complaint. Tirrenia is very quiet out of season which we did not mind as we were after a relaxing holiday. Plenty of very good restaurants in walking distants. If we go to Tirrenia again I am sure we would use this hotel.
Really pleased with this hotel

I agree with all of the review by the previous visitor.Took a risk booking this hotel due to previous reviews but was pleasantly suprised. Yes the room was a bit dated but it was clean, very roomy with a huge double bed and bathroom. Nice balcony to sit out on. Pool lovely.Handy for the bus to Pisa, liked the beach(although you do have to pay for beds), and enjoyed the breakfast. It was continental but also scrambled eggs and plenty of ham, cheese, rolls and croissants etc and the table was kept fully stocked. I would go back to this hotel, and the price was reasonable.

We stayed at the Hotel Golf for a quick weekend break at the beginning of September. We've stayed in many hotels in Italy this year (+20), including several 4-stars, and this was amongst the nicest. We therefore have to disagree with some of the other reviewers. We requested a quiet, non smoking room with a double bed & that's exactly what we got. Often quiet rooms come at the expense of nice views and this was no exception but, as we only used the room for sleeping, this was fine. The room was spacious, cool and clean and had an enormous bathroom The public areas of the hotel were fine. They were spacious & cool & were well stocked with easy chairs, sofas, tables, newspapers & magazines. The weekend singer/pianist was an absolute maestro on the piano - we won't comment on his singing though! The pool was clean, with plenty of umbrellas, loungers & deck chairs around it. Breakfast was fine, although on our first morning the loud rock music blaring from the CD player was, to say the least, intrusive and totally inappropriate given the average age of the clientele in the room(55+). The American bar between Reception & the pool has a happy hour where your first drink is half price - a nice touch and a lovely way to round off an hour or so by the pool before changing for dinner. Not so good is that the hotel is definitely not wheelchair friendly - we saw a couple with a disabled teenager struggling to get the wheelchair up the steps to the dining room & to the pool area. The staff were, without exception, courteous and helpful. The hotel is well located just a few minutes walk from the bus stop & resort centre. Tirrenia itself is a nice little seaside resort with lovely sandy beaches, clean bathing water & a plethora of bars & eateries - from cheap pizzerias to expensive restaurants. Would definitely stay there again.

Initially given one of the 'residence' rooms (unfriendly for an overnight stay) which was VERY noisy despite the way they say it's in the middle of a pine forest. Next morning was changed to a top floor room on the other side of the building which was fabulous. Balcony with sea view, enormous room, great marble bathroom and massive comfortable bed and QUIET! Breakfast huge and good real coffee made for you if you ask. HUGE hotel and just minutes walk to the seafront. OK, the room wasn't the most sterilised clean I've experienced, but it's really OK and the bedlinen and towels were immaculate. Staff were fantastic and they do speak english. Easy parking and actually the whole thing was a pleasant experience.
