The Bradt guide wrongly describes this as a boutique hotel, but its a rather average 3* equivalent with very helpful / friendly staff with a good breakfast. I would only stay there at a heavily discounted price - sub £100. There is no air conditioning - our room was 23-25C. It has a small reception / restaurant area and little atmosphere. This is fine if you are just using the hotel as a bed and breakfast as the location is great - just 5 minutes from the centre of Helsinki and reasonably quiet. Bedroom size is average, there was no weekend laundry service or a porter for heavy bags.

Es ist aber eher ein durchschnittliches 3-Sterne-Hotel mit sehr hilfsbereitem und freundlichem Personal und einem guten Frühstück. Ich würde hier nur noch einmal hingehen, wenn der Preis deutlich niedriger ist – unter 150 Euro. Es gab keine Klimaanlage und unser Zimmer war zwischen 23 und 25 Grad warm. Es gab dort einen kleinen Rezeptions-/Restaurantbereich. Das Hotel hatte nur wenig Atmosphäre, was okay ist, wenn Sie nur einen Platz zum Schlafen brauchen, denn die Lage ist großartig. Es liegt nur 5 Minuten vom Zentrum Helsinkis entfernt und es war dort auch recht ruhig. Das Zimmer hatte eine durchschnittliche Größe. Es gab dort keinen Wochenend-Wäscheservice und auch keinen Portier, der einem mit schweren Gepäck helfen konnte.

I stayed in the Hotel Rivoli Jardin not in the hotel but in the apartments - I must say I was more than happy to find everything that I needed for my 10 day stay. It is about a 5 minute walk from the main centre and it is again from the harbour which I must admit was fabulous to walk around. As it was end of July and begining of August I spotted the beer tram doing the rounds of the city which was worth a visit. I was back in the city to see friends and I would most highly recommend the apartments as they are well looked after and more than adequte for eminities including a laundry. The staff were excellent and most helpful when I was trying to find where my friend worked and yes I am going back and staying in November

We stayed 5 nights in the apartments owned by the hotel - thoroughly recommend it here. First impressions outside are that the building looks grim and austere, but inside a very different story. We stayed in apartment 26 - seemed like it had been newly done up - it was beautiful. Pine floors, minimalist, modern and tasteful furnishings and loads of space. We had 2 big bedrooms, a living room with TV and DVD, a very nice kitchen with brand new fridgefreezer and dishwasher and shower/wetroom. Apartments are on a quiet street only a few steps from Esplanade Park, and from there less than 5 minutes to the harbour area and Market Square - it is a perfect location. There is an excellent supermarket very close to the hotel, also close by on another street is a lovely wine shop. We only ate out once at a Tex-Mex restaurant nearby - excellent food and nice atmosphere. At lunch time try the food from the market - delicious seafood and local treats. Usually you can only book these apartments on a weekly basis or for longer periods - they did however accept our booking of 5 days. We loved the apartments and we loved Helsinki.

First of all i gotto say that the hotel is so different than the pictures on internet.I am not even sure if those photos were taken in the hotel. So as a couple who were satisfied by the photos and rewievs, we were so dissapoointed when we arrived there.We felt like we were in a cheap hotel from 80s.The staff was not so helpful and smiling as well. They just gave the room key and told us that the breakfast is between 7 and 10. The rooms were just regular,nothing special,nothing fancy like it seems on internet.Breakfast was just OK,but it was good that they leave a basket of croissant and cookies for the ones who wake up late. The hotels in helsinki are not so hip and charming mostly,and also they are expensive. But thankfully we had a good deal on hotels.com so we paid only 120 euros per night,instead of over 200 euros.
