I went to milan with my mother and sister inlaw and stayed at the Demidoff for three nights, it was ideally situated but unfortunately there were several downfalls. Not enough cutlery or tables and chairs for breakfast, constantly asking for pastries to be replenished, which was done reluctantly. Air conditioning was non excistent and with the temperature at 37 degress the rooms were unbearable. Not enough towels to go round the hotel. Dont take any electrical goods as if you leave them in your room they will come along and take them away with out any explanation and when challenged there answer is they experience black outs if electrical goods are used with an adapter!! They do have a plentiful supply of mosquitos. My advice book somewhere else

My husband and i have just returned from a 3 night stay at the Demidoff Hotel. The hotel looks nice on entering, and the reception staff were very helpful with info etc. The rooms are basic and in need of a bit of modernization, but the bathroom was clean with towels changed daily. The air conditioning only worked when the hotel decided so on the first night due to the heat and a window being opened, my husband and i were eaten alive by mosquitos. The breakfast was worse than terible!!! It has won a prize for the most unfriendly poe faced waitress and stale sparce food. When we asked for another coffee we were asked to pay, and once the food had run out it was not replaced leaving only a basket with a few stale rolls and packets of biscuits. This really lets the Hotel down as it leaves you feeling annoyed by the attitude of the waitress who appears to go out of her way to be unfriendly and unhelpful. It is located in a good position and not too far to even walk to the centre, which we did several times during our stay. I would not stay here again and would pay the extra for a 4 star as in our opinion this hotel only qualifies as a 2 star

After reading the reviews of previous guests I wondered if I made the right choice with this hotel. But I had a very pleasant stay at Demidoff. First: the location was brilliant: VERY close to the metro station and the buenos aires (big shopping street). The central station is a 10/15 minute walk.
The rooms were quite large and we had a room on the 4th floor with a nice view of the street. The airconditioning worked well, but made quite some noise (it was turned off between 10 AM and 3/4 PM). The bathroom was also nice, but there was no shower curtain, luckily there were a lot of towels wich were changed every day. The breakfast is good for Italian standards, but a lot is on the sweet side. There are not many breakfast tables and at some mornings there was only one employee, so you had to wait for some time to get a drink and food (at busy times a lot was empty very quickly).
We had to pay a 50 euros deposit at arrival, this is the case even when you paid the hotel in advance.

This hotel was very impressive. Was about 100metres to Lima subway taking you right into the centre of milan for 1Euro. Also loads of shops in walking distance and centrale station close by but will probably need a taxi if have suitcases. Bathroom had a mint jet shower for 2 people and very clean and airey. Breakfast was not up to much but really good for the bargain price! Would definetly recommend this hotel!

I would keep a very close eye on your valuables if you stay here. The staff are not to be trusted and the hotel management are singularly unresponsive. A significant amount of money was taken from my room during our stay. All the evidence pointed to the cleaning staff but, despite forceful representations, no effective action was taken by the hotel management. Indeed, they seemed irritated at being asked to intervene. If you need something near to Milan Central, my advice is to look elsewhere. There are other, safer options.
