If you want to have a good stay, on a peaceful place... take my advice and go to Vila Gale Clube Do Campo!
The hotel offers you lots of activities. I did a little hiking, my kids went on four-wheel motorcycle ride and my husband did some duck shooting (not something I would like to do, but…)! You can also have some water activities on a lake or visit a vineyard and horse stables. The Casa de Santa Vit?ria wines are wonderful… just don’t drink too much… I mean it! =D
Equipped with outdoor swimming pools, a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi, this is the best hotel you can find in the Alentejo area – great landscape and peaceful surroundings.
I definitely recommend this hotel for a city escape!

The Clube de Campo is a nice farm type resort to spend a Weekend, or more. It has a nice lake for water activities, some farm animals, a viniard and horse stables. It is also very family oriented, with lots of activities for children.
The rooms have a rustical decor with the main amenities, nice but not excepcional, and the restaurant food its also nice, with a varied buffet breakfast.
But what we enjoied the most was the landscape and its peacefull surroundings, although we stayed in the winter season, when it is greener.
We would centainly recommend it for a city and stress escape.

An oasis in the middle of nowhere

The tiny town of Albernoa is halfway between Seville, Spain and Lisbon, Portugal. The Hotel Clube de Campo about a mile outside of the town is a great overnight rest stop between the two or a great place to spend a few days away from it all. It consists of a sort of campus of buildings. One was a dining room/lounge area with pool table. Another was a bike rental and sign out for towels for the pool. The other three contained guest rooms. Everything one-story. All buildings are connected by winding brick paths. There was a central fountain. A hard surface tennis court is also on the campus. The pool is very pretty. Everything seemed newly built.
Our room was large and the first to have 2 dressers for our clothes plus a closet. Tile floors. Bright colors--yellow walls, cobalt blue spreads, blue/yellow/orange painted furniture. Very cheerful.
Fortunately the buffet dinner was very good, since it is literally the only place to eat for miles.
