Enjoyed our stay, although parking was a problem.

We had a bad experience getting to the hotel. First of all, they gave poor directions to the parking lot, and we ended up in the wrong one. As a result of this error, we ran into trouble. After parking our car, we decided to have dinner before going to the hotel. It turned out that the parking lot closed at 10 pm, so we were unable to get to our car, and spent the first night without our luggage. We were lucky we did not arrive on a Saturday night, because the parking lot was closed on Sundays! All the hotel had to do was to give us the name of the correct lot, which was open 24 hours. Plus, there were 2 parking facilities right next to each other with almost the same name. The parking was far from the hotel, and we had to take a taxi there everytime we used our car. Also, there is a reason they tell you not to drive to the hotel. The streets were so narrow that only the experienced taxi drivers could get through.
The shower was so small that we could barely turn around, and the drain was clogged, In addition, the toilet was placed in such an awkward position that it was difficult to get to it.
However, the building was old and beautiful, and in an excellent location, close to shops and restaurants. It is a pleasant walk to the hilltop to see a gorgeous sunset view of the Alhambra. The staff was friendly and helpful.

I stayed here in Jan. 08 and had a great experience. Smartly decorated rooms, clean and just the right amount of furniture..I thought the room was just the perfect size. There was a lovely fountain in the courtyard below my bedroom window that added a nice touch to the ambience. This is the kind of place you should stay if you like a smaller, European style hotel with a lot of local ambience. Friendly staff too. Great price....I highly recommend and would definitely stay here on my next visit to Granada.

The Hotel del Capital Nazari was lovely - beautiful, clean, characteristic, very conveniently located (easy walking distance to both the Albaicin as well as city center) and friendly. The receptionists always greeted us with a smile and went out of their way to answer our questions about transport and places to see (other than the Alhambra).
Our double room cost a total of EUR 82/night off-peak, which we thought was excellent value.
Breakfast would have cost an extra EUR 8 each, but we didn't opt for it.
The hotel is small and cosy, and arguably more suitable if you are travelling on your own or with a platonic friend. It didn't seem like the best hotel for a romantic trip. If this is what you are looking for, ask for a more private room away from the courtyard.

The hotel is very nicely located near the Albayzin and Alhambra and city transportation. The hotel is in a lovely old building that has been renovated as part of a general effort to maintain the historic character of the Albayzin. There is a nice central patio and a very nice breakfast is served. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in making arrangements and giving advice. The room itself was nice and comfortable with a decent bathroom. Our only complaint was that the A/C didn't work. Luckily we didn't need it. They were very responsive in trying to fix it but were only able to do so the day we checked out. Also, the walls are thin and you can hear a lot of noise in adjoining rooms. There was also a slight musty smell in the room. We think it was from the deodorant they used when cleaning the bathroom. Also has no elevator. We had to lug our luggage up the stairs. This was not a problem for us since we travel light but could be a problem for travelers who don't.
