EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED...DO NOT BOOK HERE...On arrival we were advised that the hotel did not have a room for us. They provided inconsitent reasons for this, firstly due to renovations then to air-conditioning problems. We were consequently moved to another hotel (3-star) which was not to the same standard as our original booking (4-star) and was not in a convenient location for us (40 minute walk from original hotel). We were extremely inconvenienced by this, particularly as my partner is in a wheelchair and we had chosen the original hotel for its location to nearby sights...DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS HOTEL.

We orginally booked into VIctoires Opera. Upon arrival (about 4pm), we have been told that the room was not available due to redecoration and was transferred to their sister hotel Golden Tulip Washington Opera with upgrade.
This hotel really is closed to metro station(Opera or Louvre) and sites that you would like to visit if you are a first time visitor to Paris. There are quite a few restaurants and supermarkets close to the hotel. In the morning, we decided to go to the bakery to buy fresh croissants. However be warn: unless you insist of getting a freshly made one from inside their kitchen, you would not be getting a freshly made one!!!!!
Our rooms are clean, looks newly decorated and reasonable size. It is facing the side of the theatre. We have no noise issue. However we are a bit disturbed as to whether this is really an upgraded room as per the receptionist in VIctoires Opera. If that is the case, then I am not sure what so special about it, As this just looks like a standard Double to me!!!!!
The evening desk front staff is really friendly and we find it extremely interesting to talk to. The day time one was just doing her job . Nothing to wow about!!!
The lobby/check in area is nice and very welcoming!!! I am not sure whether in peak times whether they would have sufficient area to put your luggage if your flights/train is departing in the evening. As we were asked to put this in the check in area. So be warned you might face security issue!!!!
This is classify as a 4 star hotel. I am not 100% convince this is the case. To give it the benefit of the doubt, I would say it is a low 4 star!!!
Be warned!! Do not stay there!! Very dishonest people - and unpleasant

We had booked a room through our office's corporate rate, which was very attractive a ?100 per night. I called them in advance to ask for a specific (blue) room, and was nearly hung up on by a very rude woman.
We arrived at 10pm on Friday night, and the person on the front desk said 'we ve had an IT problem this pm; we dont have a room for you here, but we have transferred you to a hotel behind Avenue de la grande Armee'.
We are from Paris, and know full well, that the location cannot be compared at all to the original! Unsuspecting tourists would have been conned.. We had also picked the hotel for its central location, close to our friends and family.
We asked why we had not had a call to let us know of the problem, and the guy swore he did not have our telephone number. When we showed him our reservation email with all the contact details, he shrugged and said we could not expect him to follow up on all customers.
We asked to speak to the manager. He made a call and whispered something down the phone, hung up, and said no one was available.
What they actually did, is that they gave our room to someone who was paying a higher rate than us... And they take the opportunity to fill their more third rate hotels.
The man was slimy, rude, with an amused smile and clearly lying through his teeth and not offering a word of apology, saying it happened often and he didnt see why we were annoyed since he had another hotel booked for us.
As for the place itself, it seemed all right - if a bit cramped and dingy, but we didnt see the rooms.
We ended up trawling the streets of Paris at 10.30pm looking for a room, on what happened to be Valentines Day weekend. As locals, we knew other places (we tried 3 before we found a room!), but had we been foreign tourists, it would have been difficult to refuse the other hotel.
Such dishonesty and abuse of hospitality rules should not be rewarded. There are dozens of other hotels in Paris in the sames price bracket. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!

We booked via a travel agent some months before the actual trip and they asured us they had a wheelchair accsessable room, when we got there we discovered the room wasnt as they said at all. When i asked for an accsessable room they said they would move us to one the next day.The next day they said they were renovating the room and then admitted they didnt actually have one.My husband couldnt have a shower for the week we were there, they did give us an apology and a bunch of flowers though. The people at the hotel were lovely but it doesnt change the fact that they lied to our travel agent and us.I was most disappointed with them. The breakfast in the morning was the same everyday certainly not the buffet breakfast we were paid up for.The guy at the front desk was lovely and it was really close to all the attractions.Despite the problems we experienced it was still a nice hotel.
