Spent the weekend in this lovely city and the Hotel Costabella is a great base when visting Gerona. We had a quiet, comfortable room, at a very good price. The hotel has a wide range of faciltiies, I would expect that the pool is a real plus during the warmer months.
The breakfast buffet is excellent. A wide selection of fresh fruit, meats and local cheeses, cereal, tortillas and some tasty local rolls. The staff also give that extra effort in being helpful, which does make a difference.
While it is a 10-15 min walk from the old city, parking is easy if you have a car.
Would stay at the Costabella again, when flying into Gerona.

Excellent Hotel - Excellent and friendly staff.
Some people have said it is too far out from Girona but if you take the left hand road it is a 15 minute 'stroll' !!
On arrival there was a problem with the window shutter - they changed our room immediately.
Breakfast was excellent ! - Good variety - not as hot as I would have liked but, hey - this is Spain !! - even the 5 star hotels serve breakfast 'warm at best' - HOT coffee, Cava, 'Tarta de Santiago' !- what else could you require? - If there was any problem with anything, they would cook it for you fresh!
I cannot fault this Hotel - Swimming pool area small but very private and as the Hotel does not have that many rooms, there was always room to sit outside.
OOOppss ! - sorry - only one fault - complimentary tea/coffee WAS available but it tasted awful and only plastic cups available which melted when you put in the boiling water - I took my 'little' kettle so all was well.
Yes, - it is on a main road but it is not that noisy and the sound-proofing was very good.
I would DEFINITELY stay there again - In fact, I have adopted it as my 'second home'

Cool place, a little off the beaten path. We rented a car, so didn't have a problem. The hotel is quiet, clean and nice. Staff friendly and helpful. The shower is a little wierd, no shower curtain, just a large piece of glass covering half the shower area, so floor can get a little wet. The beds were ok, not the best, but hey we were there to sight see and by the time we got back, we were wiped out and had no trouble sleeping.
